Woof!

Sometimes, especially in summer, the grandkids and I lie on our backs on the grass and look for cloud shapes.  Here is a cute doggy scene - guess what he sees in the cloud shapes?

Image: Ikes Art
Fence Die: Tim Holtz Alterations
Woof & bone stamp: Inkadinkadoo
Also: Copics, white pigment pen

I printed the dog, then coloured it with Distress Oxide Inks, sponged then spritzed.  He is cut out and stuck with 3D foam.   The sentiment and the bone 'clouds' are heat embossed.

Micey Birthday

I challenged myself to use orange because it is not a colour I like working with, but I love to work with dots, stripes or checks - here I use all three!  I cut the image with a circle die, then the black as a frame so it sits out.

Pheasants

We love the birdlife visiting our wild garden from time to time.  At the moment (autumn here in NZ) we have mum, dad and three half grown pheasant chicks.  They are such a pleasure to have around, along with the quail couple and their five babies.

Mailbox Flowers

Make your own flowers - that's the challenge at the Crafters CafĂ©.  The design team have some flowery inspiration for you, here: crafterscafe

Sponsor:  DigiStamps4Joy, here:  digistamps4joy

I printed the digi and diecut into a tag, made another tag from green patterned paper, both inked edges. They are tied together with a beautiful taffeta ribbon.  The flowers are punched and the leafy vine is diecut.

Winnie Wishes

Not everyone has a mum to honour but we always have a special lady or two in our life.  I'm sure every woman enjoys being appreciated and a little pampering is always good.

I pleated the washi tape and then put a straight band of it along the top to make a frill.

Shamrock Balloons

This is for our daughter's 11th wedding anniversary.  They got married on St Patricks day, (her birthday is St Georges day) to make it easy to remember ...  but somehow I don't think that strategy worked!

The backing paper is green but has photographed mud.   It looks way better than that in real.  The W of S on the balloons almost makes them look 3D.

I have been having a play with paint chips after being inspired by some online.  I just googled paint chip card making and WOW zillionz of them.

Anyway I made this for my March cardswap buddy Val, who lives in Otago and has a big dramatic landscape outside her door.

Mouse Knight

It's "old stuff/recycling" time at the Crafters Café, here at:
crafterscafe

Thanks to QKR who provided this wacky image: mouse knight  here at qkr-stampede

The box and the buttons are recycled.  I bought some cosmetic sponges (for inking on cards, of course) from the dollar shop and they came in this box which was too good to throw out.  The buttons are from Grandma's old button jar which I inherited.

I have some small cross stitch projects (for cards) which I take with me to do at meetings and get-togethers with other crafty friends, and this is the perfect size  (to put the aida cloth, the embroidery cottons, needles and a small pair of scissors) into my handbag when I go.  I coloured with Copics, and sponged the background with Distress Inks.    Also silver pen, white gel pen.

Mermaid Serena

The Crafters CafĂ© has a recycling/upcycling challenge on now - check it out now:  crafterscafe

The sponsor who provided this image is: cuteasabuttonstamps Mermaid Serena

This is how it started off:

I wanted to keep the sparkly box as it was so the contents can be seen easily and it's so girly. I decided to give it to one of my granddaughters to keep her hair ties in, so I prettied it up with layers of doily and coloured Serena in mermaid colours (which just happen to be her favourite hair tie colours).

I added pearls - I'm sure all mermaids wear pearls.

Easter Magic

Recycle Recycle Recycle that's what the design team are doing at the  Crafters CafĂ©, you can do it too:
crafterscafeblogchallenge

Thanks Dr Digi for the image of Phyllis the Fairy, get it here:

Easter Magic is when hen eggs get magicked into chocolate eggs!  (This pic is really me with my fairy wings on).  I took out the hen eggs and replaced them with chocolate marshmallow eggs, and covered the original labelling on the egg carton with easter paper that had random words glittered.  Tied a wide organza ribbon around the box (to stop prying eyes and sneaky fingers), coloured with Copics (note: ombre dress) and cut out Phyllis (isn't she gorgeous?) and mounted her on the front of the box to do her magic.
