Lemon goes with ...

Lemon goes with    ... tequila of course!  Cheers!

I used card that was smooshed, printed over it and cut it out.  The diecut circle is from sparkly frosted card (doesn't show very well) to represent the salt.

Rhiannon - aged 9 - Hello Gardening Lady

Rhiannon aged 9.

I made this while nonna was making her one. She showed me how to make a gatefold card and let me use her special pens to colour the lady.

Mousie Sugar Plum - Rhi, age 9

Nonna let me pick a few of the pictures in her Digi image files and this is the Sugar Plum Fairy Mouse that I made into a card. Nonna gave me a pair of wavy decorative scissors to use and  keep. I colored the mouse with watercolor pencils (even though I didn't use the watercolor abilities). I thought it would be fun to have a floral background and to place some gems in the middle of each flower.

I chose the words 'Follow your Dreams' because some people dream things that don't become reality e.g being a ballerina, or a vet or anything else you would want to be. also I wanted my cousin Holly to like it, if I can give it to her.

Macaron Mouse

Oooooh macarons, such tiny bites of fruity deliciousness.

I made the rainbow background with Distress Inks on linen textured paper.  Images are coloured with Copics.  Rhi (granddaughter) and I had fun deciding what the flavours were - lemon with chocolate cream, pistachio with raspberry cream, chocolate with vanilla ...

Umbrella Man

At this time of year the conversation always turns to weather, whether you are coming into spring or autumn.  I think this is a great masculine card, and I like the glow through the clouds... maybe the rain is over and the sun is on its way?

I made the background experimenting with Oxide Distress Inks, such a lovely way to get inky.

Piggy Sparkle

Oh this is one cute piggy, I love that she just jumps right in!

The background is made directly onto the base card - sponged Distress Inks, spritzed, dried then masked and edges inked more intensely.  Piggy is coloured with Copics and the water splashes edged with Kindyglitz.  I used this sketch:

Breathe Roses

My roses have finished for the year and are now setting hips, which are lovely themselves, especially the big fat red ones.  Those of you in the northern hemisphere will just be waiting for those new leaves and buds ...

I used a sketch to start this card:

I masked a rectangle on the pink card to stamp the script, then made a stitched frame to set over it.   The rose is a layered stamp misted with frost shimmer, then raised with 3D foam.

Hello thoughts

I tried some techniques shared by Jennifer McGuire (youtube) using oxide distress inks and this card is one of the test pieces.  The base card is pearly pink as is the 'hello', and the whole top is misted with shimmer.

I made the background using four Distress Inks stencilled through holes I had made in card with a punch. Then stamped the sentiment & line circles.  The panel is edged with Distress Ink.  These characters look like they're having fun, and I reckon they would do for lots of occasions.

Aren't these lilies lovely?
I made a background using Distress Oxide inks, smooshed, dabbed and dribbled.  Then, when it was dry I printed the image on it.  I trimmed it to focus on part of the image, and framed it like a work of art.  The diamonds spill out of the painting to the sentiment.

I printed the image twice on card. On one printed card the background is sponged, spritzed and misted with Lindy's Glitz Spritz, the other printed card is splattered with black ink (to make a speckled hen), some bits coloured with Copics, cut out and attached with 3D foam.

I put them into a spring rainbow garden - I used the Letterpress method of colouring the background card, by smooshing ink over the surface of the embossing folder then embossing it.  I like the effect it gives, sort of textural.  I wanted a very soft effect for the image so kept the colours minimal.  The image is lifted out from the background with 3D foam tape.

Bunny Bunny Fox Fox

Spring is when all the critters come out to play, and these little critter stamps are so cute, I just want to keep using them. Initially I just stamped the fox, but he looked a bit lonely so I gave him a friend who brought along a little gift.

A one layer card.
I stamped a square direct-to-paper with distress ink, stamped the critters, and coloured them, then covered with Glossy Accents.  Then I masked the animals,  stamped onto acrylic, watered it down a bit and made splatter.

Collect Moments

Start the day off right: the first cup of coffee is always the best, and I don't know if you noticed, but having it in a pretty cup makes it taste better too.

My daughter (who lives in another city) and I will often have a virtual cuppa together while chatting on the phone; a text will get sent to warn of the phone call in 5 minutes - just time to make a cuppa, get comfortable, and put the feet up!  Lovely!

I wonder how many moments of friendship have been spent over a cuppa?

I stamped the image on a scrap of smooshed card from another project, just enough!  The edge of the card is inked with a toning colour.

Rhiannons Post - 9 years old

I don't have my own blog so I have to use Nonnas blog to put the cards onto.
I bought  3 washi tapes with my pocket money to make this card and only had to use one of nonnas to match.  I drew lines so I could get them straight.Nonna lets me use her stuff and I love to cuttle bug.  It took me ages to stick the layers together properly for the hello word.

(Note from Nonna: Entirely Rhi's work.  She is a perfectionist and is very proficient with tools and materials.  She loves learning different techniques and will persist until she gets it right.)
Die: Lawn Fawn.

Chance of Rainbows

Rainbows are so beautiful and are such a cheering sight after or even during rain, symbolising a new start.  I used this sketch to begin:

I made the rainbow on card by smooshing Distress Inks on a large acrylic block (you know I like to get inky) and just allowed it to happen.  So it was ready to use and I just needed to trim it to shape... and use that perfect sentiment!
