I got this stamp and then couldn't think how to use it. What the heck, just go for it, it doesn't have to be perfect ....
The background is watercolour card, smooshed, ink blended and stencilled over using Ranger DI's. The edges are diecut with Tim Holtz edges and sentiment heat embossed with Zing lime green EP. I diecut a sunflower in a not-perfect colour - I know that will annoy some folk - but I wanted it to be not-perfect amazing. Hmm maybe I should have made the leaf hot pink.
This is going to a teenage grandaughter who is going through "that" stage, where I hope this will encourage her.

What a wonderful card - especially for a teen queen who isn't quite sure of herself, or her place in the world.... I may have to 'borrow' the stamp next time I take my friend to the airport...
ReplyDeleteLove your various colours and textures you have on this fabulous card

Fabulous background Carol. And great use of the sentiment.
ReplyDeleteNow that's a wonderful motivational card. I love the work you put into making your own background, and the quote holds so much truth. I also like the purple sunflower, it really is an eye-catcher. Thanks for joining the Alphabet challenge.

Carol, that is a perfect sentiment for our motivational Alphabet Challenge! I love how you put your card together, especially using that die cut in the corners like you did – I never thought to use mine that way, but will give you credit if I do! :o) Thanks so much for joining in with us, Nancy J, inkblocks
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome Nancy, don't need to credit me, this is something anyone can do with most dies. Just do it!
DeleteSuch a wonderful card for a teenager going through some challenging times. The oversized sentiment looks fabulous on your smooshed background!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for joining us for our “Tell Her About It” challenge at Little Red Wagon this week! I’m so glad that you linked your project!
