Meri Kirihimete is Merry Christmas in Maori. The flower is a pohutukawa which is called the New Zealand Christmas tree as it blooms in December. I used a weave EF to represent the kete or woven bag. Because of our summer Christmas, these are pretty much the dominant colours for us: the red blossoms, green foliage and sea/sky blue.
