 An encouragement card for a friend who needs cheering up.

Cat and friends (Katzelcraft) stamped onto panel and coloured with Copics. Also stamped on post-it note which is cut out, used as mask and background stencilled with DI's.

Wishing

 

Another of my Gorjuss Girls stamps from Santoro on a background of roses.  She is coloured with Copics and fussy cut.  The panel is embossed ( EF Couture Creations) sprinkled with Colour Infusions powders, and misted with shimmer.  Stamped sentiment, iridescent gems added.  Panel matted on lavender card, image and senti popped up on foam.

49 + 1 Birthday

 I made this for a man who likes fishing and hunting and is in denial about turning 50, hence the 49+1.

Deer diecut (Crate Paper), stencilled fish, diecut numbers (uniquelyCreative) & senti (Poppy Stamps).  Inked edge of panel.  WoS on numbers, Stickles on some fish.  Vellum wrapped around panel.  Possibly 49 fish and one deer.

So simple.  A double inked and stamped apple using watercolour technique with DI's. A simple sentiment with gold thread.

Use Your Wings

 

I haven't used my Gorjuss girls in such a long time so I dusted them off, stamped and coloured with Copics, diecut with stitched Dienamics frame and edge inked.  Layered over a stamped panel (TimHoltz tiny sentiments stamp sheet) with edges inked.  The black scoopy diecut is part of a failed diecut circle (so I just cut the failed but off), and a layer of lacy cobwebby green fabric cut with pinking shears.  The heart is a scrap offcut of smooshed card diecut with a hole punched to tie the sparkly twine.  Stamped with one of the TH sentiments.  The pretty paper also has inked edges.

Hello Elephant

 

Background is spritzed and splattered (DI's, shimmer mist), stencilled (DI's), then diecut.  Elephant is diecut then stamped, left uncoloured on purpose so it would stand out, same with diecut sentiment; both adhered with 3D foam tape for shadow.  I have just discovered square cards are such fun to work with, I've hardly ever used them.

Umbrella Rabbit

 

I love these Colorado characters.  This bunny got caught in an April shower, and still managed to find a flower.

Stamped image on panel, coloured the rabbit etc with Copics, and paperpieced the umbrella.  White pen highlights.  Matted onto patterned paper for a border.  I like the pop of colour amongst the black & white.  No sentiment needed.

 Cat is stamped once on card panel, then stencilled with DI's, and once on patterned paper then fussy cut.  The eyes are stamped separately on white card and glued on.  Tongue coloured with Copics.  Heat embossed stamped sentiment is Art Impressions with inked edge so stands out against the background. White pen highlights, gold pearls.

Chocolate is the Answer

 

Chocolate card, chocolate metallic watercolour paints smooshed and splattered for a background, a Eureka bunny who's had a nibble at the sentiment, a little chocolate hill, and Impression Obsession diecut grass.  Cheeks, nose and shadow is coloured pencils.  Gold thread, felt tail for a lucky rub.  The strip of green is a leftover snippet of pierced card.

Thinking of You Flowers

 A black panel, splattered and edged with gold metallic watercolour paint.  Flowers diecut from previously smooshed card snippets (whenever I use ink on my mat, I mop up anything left and use it later and projects like this).  Gold embossed sentiment onto black card.

A lovely scenic paper, one of my favourites (Daphne's Diary), fractured by the diecut frame with a little stitching and  a pretty gold diecut sentiment.  This just makes me want to get out in my garden!

Hoppy Friend

 I've been trying to use up stuff that sits in a box on my desk - this card used the image panel (From The Heart Stamps digi image) and the inked embossed panel.  I only had to diecut the mat and butterflies from stash.  The image is coloured with pencils, the butterflies with a touch of Stickles.  The label die is mPress and the diecut butterflies drop-outs from a Crafters Companion die. EF is Couture Creations.

Dear Friend Daisy

 

I'm enjoying working with square cards and here is another.  Firstly I painted a background panel with metallic watercolour paints in pink and orange, but it looked a bit wishywashy (it did leave shimmer though), so I got out the Gelli plate and did some DI inking with a stencil on top.  The diecut daisies are placed on a hot pink tag panel with punched corners because the white daisies got a bit lost in the background.  The sentiment is typed on the computer and stacked.  Inky dotty doodles made with black pen and silver pen to give some contrast as it still looked a bit, well, bland.  The good thing about using stencils with the Gelli plate is I get a couple of decent prints out of it for another project.  At the moment I'm liking the bigger borders too.
