Upright Z-Fold Calendar

I am happy to say this is my first guest design for Ellibelle's i-spy challenge, thanks for inviting me Ellie, I always enjoy your themes.  For December the challenge is for something old and/or something new,  join us here:  simplyellibelle - I spy with my little eye

simplyellibelle.com/2023/12/i-spy-with-my-little-eyesomething-old.html

For my "OLD"  I chose one of the first stamp sets I bought when I started paper crafting around 2005; and lots of other stuff too (see list below).  For the "NEW" I used a calender for the new year.  I thought the butterflies signified  emerging from an old year starting anew.
The card is made using a 6x6" base card.
Butterflies and ladybird are stamped onto toning snippets of scrap patterned paper and cut out, stickles added to bodies.  White card is behind the top of the calendar to write a message.

Butterfly & ladybird stamps: Hero Arts (old)
Die (top stopper): Spellbinders (old)
Border punch: Fiskars (old)
Paper: Basic Grey (old)
Calendar: free printable year calendar (new)
Best wishes die: unbranded (new)
Also: Stickles on butterfly bodies, brad.

Star Angel

A bit of experimenting with inks and plastic foam and plastic mesh for the background and for the card the stars are cut from.  This angel stamp is one of my oldest stamps, so aaround 20 years old.  It is a wooden cube with a different rubber stamp on each face.

Angel stamp:   JudiKins

Christmas Robin Trellis

Another trellis card, this time for Christmas.  The trellis fancy fold card is pretty easy and there are lots of instructions on the internet.

After constructing the base card, I stamped star shapes on the background and added Stickles for
twinkle.  The robin is stamped, embossed and coloured with Copics.  The wreath is diecut from previously smooshed card coloured with Distress Inks, and popped up on 3D foam.   Berries are punched with Crop-o-dile and sparkled with Stickles. The sentiment is stamped on one of the lattice strips.  A golden paper with orange dots is stuck on the inside so it kinda shows through the trellis.

Leafy Blue Thanks

Stamped using a background leafy stamp (unknown) and distress inks, spritzed and sprinkled with Colour Infusions powder.  Thanks sentiment die cut and layered in gold and dark blue.  Some areas of the background have random silver and gold gilding flakes.

I like the frosty look of these leaves.

Tree Blues

CAS in blues using a sketch. I like that the trees look like they are hand-drawn once the ink is dry.  Stamped with Altenew inks (blues), Hero Arts (cup o joe).  I contemplated a sentiment and thought it better without!  Then I changed my mind again and put one on, and I think it does finish it.

Winter wonderland

A tiny deer all wrapped up in a winter wonderland.

The deer is stamped onto card and also onto scrap paper to make a mask.  The image is coloured and the mask cut out and put over the coloured stamped image - then the trees are stamped, a Sheer Shimmer sparkle misted and the mask removed.  You can see the sparkle in the detail pic.

HM Party

Get ready to party with House Mouse & Friends, have a peep at the design team party inspiration and join in here:  housemouse-challenge

I stamped, cut and coloured the image and decided streamers were need to create the party theme.  The
streamers are actually the curly vines from a pumpkin die but are perfect for this!  I used a patterned paper that looked like it was crackled in Lime green with pink in the crackles (it hardly shows in the photos) matted it onto hot pink.  The streamers are diecut from snippets of card from my bin. and covered with Stickles.

Simple Penguin Joys

I wonder what this little chap is off to do?  Ice skating, sledding?  Going to play with the snowman?  He is dressed up warm and is all ready to go.  This sweet little Christmas village looks so cosy.

The background is more of that gorgeous wrapping paper I found, with highlights of sparkle.  I laid a thin trim of gold across the corner triangle that pengi is standing on.  Pengi is coloured with Copics.

Origami Christmas Tree

I made this for the NZ December cardswap from an on-line Tutorial (posted in Tutorials by lisababitz).  The base card has two lines dry embossed around the edge for a frame (sorry it hardly shows).  The papers are all from a Rosie's Studio pad.  The wine card for plant pot is diecut (and then cut into pot shape), as is the stitched star.  Gold gems added for baubles.  The sentiment is stamped then punched and the edges heat embossed in gold; used 3D foam with fine gold thread to attach.  It folds flat for mailing.

Meri Kirihimete

The pohutukawa tree is known as the New Zealand Christmas tree as it flowers at Christmastime. The leaves are a sage green and the flowers bright red with a dusting of yellow stamens.

Pōhutukawa and its cousin rata hold a prominent place in Māori tradition. Legends tell of Tāwhaki, a young warrior who attempted to find heaven to seek help in avenging the death of his father. He fell to earth and the crimson flowers are said to represent his blood.  Meri Kirihimete is maori for merry christmas.

The flower is cut from red metallic card and also gold glitter card, the sentiment is cut from red metallic card.  The patterned paper has metallic red stripes.

Warm & Fuzzy

A non-fussy card.  The cat is stamped on card, then again on waste paper to provide a mask, then again onto patterned paper for paper piecing.  The mask is applied and area around cat is sponged and blended., then dark blue ink finely splattered.  Tree stamps applied around and behind cat, then mask removed,  paper piecing cut out and applied.  Hand stitched xx.

Pengi Christmas

Lots of Christmas fun over at C.R.A.F.T. challenge, join in here:  C.R.A.F.T. challenge

I am happy to be guest designer at C.R.A.F.T. challenge this time, it's one of my favourite challenges - a new one every week!  Thanks for having me Jo.

I printed the image (thanks to sponsor Sweet'n'Sassy) and coloured it with Copics, adding sparkle and shine.  The paper is actually a triangle banner  matted with frosted gold paper.  I added a little top on the circle to make it a bauble tag and mounted it with 3D foam for dimension.  I love this delicate scripty sentiment in gold mirror card.
Did you know New Zealand has the most species of penguins in the world?  13 of the worlds 18 species can be found here, 9 species breed here. We often saw Little Blue Penguins swim by when we were fishing - they don't all live on the ice!
