Cocktail Cheers

 

Scribbles challenge is Sparkle & Shine.  Think of me here in NZ in the full heat of summer drinking this cool, frosted drink called a Traffic Light.  The sparkle is from Wink of Stella, like moisture all over the glass when it's been in the fridge.  I wanted to keep it clean and simple, so used dry embossing to make a subtle surface for the glass to stand on; it adds a bit of texture too.

Deer Hugs

 


You've heard of bear hugs, well this is deer hugs.

I used a  sketch Saturday sketch for this, but turned it around then forgot to enter it in time, as well as the colour challenge in Chaos Bingo.   

I thought this would be a great man card - Christmassy but not too fussy or fancy.

I swiped white D'ink on the embossed card to show up the woodgrain.  Cut a range of nesting labels in different colours.  The sentiment is diecut in mirror card with a vellum shadow (the first time I've been able to do this (new die set).

Opportunity Deer

 


Another funny Christmas, particularly in light of this years Covid restrictions.  I'm sure we would've all been badder if we could ...   I discovered one piece of this bp in my stash with the bauble border already on it  - perfect.  I like non-trad colours.

Oh Deer

 




I made the background using a failed die-emboss of clouds, by sponging with distress inks, painting with gesso, misting and EP clumping.  I have seen people using white 3d product (which we don't seem to be able to get here), so I experimented a bit and came up with 'clumping' EP by misting it with water, waiting for it to clump, then sprinkling it in the card, then heating.  Not quite the same effect but it suits me.

Eva's earbud pouch

 


I made this earbud pouch for our granddaughter Eva.  It is made from a test-piece of handmade batik cloth, so nobody in the whole wide world will have one like it.  I hand stamped it with permanent ink.

I got the pouch design off youtube:  DIY EARPHONE HOLDER | EASY SEWING TUTORIAL  It is made using a CD for the pattern.

Blue Penguin Tag

 

Did you know there are more kinds of penguins around NZ than anywhere else?  My fave is the little blue penguin. When we are out fishing they just swim right on by ... and are very cute.
