iSpy #37

Lysha's iSpy #37 challenge this week, gosh isn't the year galloping through?

Prompts this time were:  Golden Hour, Action Item, Change, Cellphone, Own choice.

GOLDEN HOUR:  I tried to take a sunrise and I tried to take a sunset, but the phone seems to allow for variations in light levels and cancels all the beautiful colours out.  So here is another Golden:  citrus fruit - tangelo juice - delicious.  It's a bit like daffodils, just pure sunshine.

ACTION ITEM:  Ian on his ride-on mower.  It is his zone-out space.

CHANGE:  Soon these blossoms will change into plums!

CELLPHONE:  I keep my phone in this little quilted case I made to protect it and for FUN.  The words are hello in various languages!  Isn't that appropriate?

OWN CHOICE:  When I wandered around today looking for some action, then hens thought I was coming to let them out into the orchard and all ran for the gate.  Sorry girls, not until the lawns are finished.   I guess this is an action shot too.

That's it for this week.  Check out Lysha's photographic challenge, here:  iSpy-37

You're Vintage

I've been trying to use stuff I have that gets forgotten about.  This time it's the stencil paste and the leafy background stamp.  Add some pencil, splatter, a bit of rub on wax and it's good to go.  Seasonal too.

Stencil: Kaisercraft

Die: Tim Holtz

Stamp: Chocolate Baroque

Bee die: Magazine freebie

Senti: computer

Also:  Nuvo Mousse, White pencil, white pen, Glossy Accents, D.Ink, Plaid Treasure Gold wax, D.Inks,  DecoArt Media black

Girl Hugs

YOUR FAVOURITE COLOUR COMBO is the challenge at the Crafters Cafe - why don't you join us?  Here:  crafterscafeblogchallenge

Thanks to our sponsor  STAMPERS DELIGHTS for providing the image.
It is a full body image, I just cut it down for my card because I wanted her bigger. And what about that cute wee kitty?   Get it here:  stampersdelights-chibi-my-kind-of-crazy

I made this for a friend of mine who is going through a hard time at the moment.   I gave the image a haircut to match my friend.
MY favourite colour combo is blue and green!

Frame die: Dienamics
Sentiment: unbranded
Also: Copics, ribbon, glitter, p.papers, white pen, D.Inks, pearl

asyoulikeit-round-or-straight-edges I like both, it depends what the image tells me to do, this time I wanted her looking out a window, so straight edges.

iSpy #36

 iSpy #36

This week the prompts were:  Remembrance, dainty, heart, TV, your choice.

Remembrance:  Whenever I spy this little glass millefiore, I remember the time we spent in Venice.

Dainty:  I love hatpins.  Here are three I made displayed in a pincushion I made using a little teacup set I found in a junk shop.

Heart:  Here are some heart shaped pot mitts I made for a daughters friend.

TV:  I took lots for this prompt, but like this one because it reflected out living areas, inside and out.  You can see the stacker-sliders out onto the deck with the gazebo curtains fluttering in the breeze, or should I say snapping in the gale?  Also spot my jar of feathers that I collect on my strolls.

My Choice:  Citrus.  Our trees are loaded this year - mandarins, tangelo, lemon, lime and grapefruit.  Ian has made lots of marmalade.  I have been making lemon syrup cakes.

Not Interested

This man is just not interested.   The image is stamped, masked, then smooshed, splattered & misted.  I sprayed coffee in the area where the sentiment was to go.  His face is watercoloured with D Inks and the monocle done with Glossy Accents.   Oh what fun.

Stamp: Tim Holtz/stampers anonymous

Chicken In

A CAS card, the image is masked and coloured with distress inks.
I made this for a DT buddy who is very sick.

My pets are chickens; I have eight: Roxie, Cilla, Betsy, Ruby, Jacky, Rosie, Spicy and Beanie.  But my very fave is Roxie.  She is like a human.  She is always the first one to greet me and answers to her name.

Image & Senti: Newtons Nook

Also: Distress inks

This is Roxie come to ask if I will let her go out into the orchard.  She is backed up by Ruby and Cilla.  And yes, in the background you can see one of their houses and the chicken swing.  When I pick her up and stroke her she sort of purrs in her throat.

I really enjoy making scrappy strip cards.   I made this for a NZ Cardswap requiring using this technique.    The background EF is lightly inked with pale blue.  There are tiny dots of Kindyglitz on the detail in the EF.

I think it looks like a sunbeam shining in the forest.

Mad Scientist

DOTS, STRIPES &/or CHECKS is the challenge at Incy Wincy.  Come on, give it a go!  You know you want to.   Check out the DT inspiration & join us here:  incywincydesigns

Thanks to our sponsor COLOR of LOVE who provided the fun image, get it here:  colouroflove/zaner-the-mad-scientist

Haven't we all played with science kits?

I made this for a grandson who is scientific minded.   I managed dots, stripes and checks.  The front of the card swings aside to reveal the hidden message underneath.   I mounted the panel on a side opening black base card.   It's from a tutorial by Jennifer McGuire called "Simple Swing Reveal Card" on youtube.

Rectangle die (on reveal): Dienamics
