Thinking Tulips

Another fundraising card for Parkinson's Disease - their symbol is a red tulip.

A plaid background stamp, ink is dabbed off stamp so it is uneven, edges inked.  Sentiment stamped. Tulips diecut from inked & smooshed card, shaded with Copics, stacked on black card.  Metallic gilding flakes applied randomly.

Ordinary Joy

This is made using baby wipes to remove colour.  The white card panel is heavily inked with Distress Oxide Inks, laid over with a stencil, then a baby wipe and run through the Cuttlebug.  The wipe removes colour where the stencils isn't, and you end up with a babywipe you can dry and use for another project.  I love the arty texture it makes on the card.  The vellum adds a see-through layer, a frosted pearl dot, and the daisy echoes the stencil pattern.

This was a  topic for a NZ cardswap.  Just google babywipe inklifting and stencil for the technique.

Blue For You

Our latest NZ cardswap topic was 'monochrome' so it had to be blue, my fave colour.  I had to put a butterfly on it too - my swap person loves butterflies.  I think it looks like willow pattern china.

This is a background stamp, which I used with water stamping technique and Ranger Distress Inks Chipped Sapphire. Also misted with Ranger Perfect Pearls.   Diecut an oval matted and popped up with foam tape.  The small butterfly is Kaisercraft, oval lacy diecut Babai Crafts from vellum, silver thread and silver pearls.  Sentiment diecut "For You"die AnOwl layered.  I also put a leftover strip of the background on the inside of the card.  Stampin'Up Berry Harvest.

Hello You

This is for a card swap that needed and animal and a frame.

One little dog and his doggy friends.

I stamped a large doggy background (unknown) onto a piece of card that I'd previously gelli printed with a stencil in soft creams.  I also stamped again on an inked scrap/snippet and fussy cut the main dog.  The background panel is smooshed with pale greens (Ranger Distress inks) and a diecut green frame (AveryE) added along with a black filmstrip (Sizzix/Tim Holtz).  A matching bow and little gold medallion round doggy's neck.  Dog popped up with foam tape.  The gold medallion is a drop-out snippet from a die.

Say it with Flowers

A gingham paper background with punched corners, a couple of diecut ovals, two lacy diecuts and a bunch of diecut flowers tied with a pretty bow.  The sentiment is stamped & embossed in white and diecut with a shadow.  A touch of Stickles in the flower centres.  I hope you feel better already!

Chihuly Flowers

We have just returned from a cruise which had watercolour classes on board.  In Seattle we visited the Chihuly Glass garden (a-maz-ing!!) which inspired this painting for one of the exercises in the painting class. It is painted wet on wet, wet on dry and splattered.  I had folded the thick watercolour paper in half to make a card. It is folded to A5 size.

While on board we got to know a lady who was turning 80, so I turned the painting into a birthday card for her, by painting the inside with a couple more flowers and writing birthday greetings (I forgot to photograph the inside).  She was thrilled as she had visited the Chihuly Gardens and says she intends to frame it.

And: a photo of the actual glass flowers - they are enormous and hang from the roof of a giant glass house.  The Chihuly Gardens are just by the Space Needle; You can see the Space Needle in the glasshouse photo.

Felicitations

Critter Crazy challenges always have animals as the featured image. We would love to see your critters!

Join the design team with your critter,  here:  crittercrazy

The digi image is From the Heart Stamps and paper pieced.  It's printed twice, once on white card and once on patterned paper then reassembled.  The background is embossed with a strip of the reverse patterned paper that was used for the beret and scarf, and a scrap for the baguettes. Felicitations means congratulations. For the French it can be for birthdays, anniversaries etc. or any reason to celebrate.
