Hey Fox

I love these tiny images - I have a whole page of them - and I think they do best in a simple design. This time I made a tile for the image.

I like to do 'just because' cards to let people know I'm thinking of them or even for the slightest reason or for a surprise.

Dear Deer

Dear deer, what fun I had making this.  I love getting inky and had to try this fold with a scene.  The  treetrunks/deer dies are a prize from Pixie (Snippets) Thanks again Di!

I have a stash of backgrounds I have been experimenting with, so used a couple of these for the background.  The triangular trees are cut to shape from snippets and splattered with coffee stain.

Deer/Tree trunk dies: Lawn Fawn

Heartfelt

Scribbles theme this month is Heartfelt.  Check out the design team work, get inspired, and join us, here:  scribblesdesignschallenge

Scribbles image, get it here: #A 20 Heart Doodle 3

I printed the image, coloured it, cut it out and highlighted the little heart with Kindyglitz ( hearts should have a little sparkle).  I love this soft brushed silver paper.  I only have a few sheets left and am using them very carefully as I haven't ever seen quite the same since I bought it when we lived in UK.  Now I wished I'd bought a heap of it.

Photo Challenge #7

Photo challenge #7 : Thanks Lysha, this was quite a challenging list.

#7:  Progress, Sign, Picture of a picture, Selfie, Own choice.

Progress:  I tried several takes on this topic but ended up with this cyclamen plant that had a bud, full flowers, and dying flowers on the same plant.  I couldn't decide if this was progress or process!

Sign: We stopped here for lunch on our way to Rotorua.  The cafe was tiny, but had a great atmosphere - and this wonderful signage.

Picture of a picture:  I wanted the reflection so carefully placed it at the side and allowed it to become part of the picture.  The angle makes it part of the journey.

Selfie:  A sign of the times - Me, Covid 19 and summertime.

Own choice:  I found these cicada wings on the path today;  I presume a cat got it and ate the rest.  The wings are iridescent and sparkled in the sun - difficult to capture.

Thanks for the challenge Lysha.  See you next time.

Unicorn Magic

Use Lace and/or Pearls is the challenge at the Crafters Cafe this time.  The design team have provided inspiration for you - join us here:  crafterscafeblogchallenge

Thanks to Stampers Delight for providing the image, you can get it here:  stampersdelights

I coloured and diecut the image, then used the same nesting die to make a frame from purple textured card.  I used some mottled lilac paper with edges inked for the background, laying stripes of paper lace before placing the circular frame over.  Then the pearls just sprang onto the lacy stripes.

I Spy #6

Today is the start of another photographic challenge with Lysha with I Spy #6.

The recipe this week is: Messy, Writing, Glass, Alive, own choice.

Messy:  I was at a cafe on Saturday and on the next table was a messy tray ready for the wait staff to collect.

Writing:  I found this scrap of fabric while tidying my craft room - I bought it because I love the colourful writing and encouraging messages.

Glass:  I noticed this little cameo and loved the way refraction, reflection and liquid changes what you see (there aren't three chairs, only two! and the blinds look like they are going the other way).  The dark areas enhance the reflection.

Alive: I have been waiting for this chrysalis to hatch, and spotted it just after the butterfly had emerged and was still drying out it's wings.

Own choice:  these are my young chickens Rosie (red) and Jacky (black); they are 10 weeks old now and just starting to grow their combs.  They are very nosy and like to know what is happening.  Look at the amazing striped pattern the sun makes of the wire netting onto the bottom board.

I hope you like my selection for this week.  I am enjoying the directed observation exercises this challenge brings.

I Spy #5 Photography challenge

I just discovered this challenge via Ellibelle's Crafty Wednesday challenge.  It's  FIVE photos following a recipe.  For those in the northern hemisphere, you have to remember it's summer here.

In answer to your question Lysha  - yes, I take photos all the time, whereever I am, always on the lookout for a subject.

I Spy #5 is:   Collection, Yellow, Tiny, photographer's choice, photographer's choice.

Collection (of quilt blocks on my design wall - I am trying to decide how to arrange them for the quilt).

Yellow: the meadow we have ended up with because the lawnmower broke and is getting fixed.

Tiny:  my fishpot filled with tiny tadpoles.  The little ones are only the size of a middle digit fingernail head-to-tip-of-tail.  I like the strong diagonals in this one.

Photographers Choice 1: My fabulous Compassion roses

Photographers Choice 2: Rapanui Beach (west coast, Taranaki, NZ)

Oh this was fun!
