Party party party!
Summer holiday is the theme over at Die Cut Divas this month:

I used Simply B's image:

I think this image looks like a party in progress, happy and fun.  I coloured with Copics, then her top is masked and stamped with a crosshatch pattern.  I used the wonky circles because they kind of look like bubbles (maybe champagne).  I like the look of the mixed colour gems to echo the confetti and streamers in the image.

Umbrella Fun

Check out the 'Black & White & One' challenge at Come And Get It:

Sami Stamps are the sponsor and such beautiful designs make it hard to choose, have a look here:
I printed the image out twice, and cut one out to use as a mask.  With temporary adhesive I stuck it over the final image and rubbed Distress Inks over making the colour more intense at the bottom.  Then I spritzed and sprinkled water over leaving it a minute or so before blotting it off, as this leaves lovely watermarks.  For the splatter, I watered down black acrylic paint and just flicked it over.
Matted it onto black card when dry.  The black & white patterned paper is glued straight onto the black base card - don't you think it looks like those mindfulness drawings that are the rage at the moment?  Even at the ripe old age of 67 I still love splashing in puddles!

Mice Time

Summer holiday challenge on the Die Cut Divas challenge blog - check out the Diva's work here:

I used sponsor Simply B's image:

I coloured with Copics, added Wink of Stella for the high spots on her dress, and used a monochrome colour palette.  The embossing folder is an oldie and I decided to use it on its side  - I have always used it landscape before.

Summer Vacation - Surf's Up

Summer Vacation is the theme this month at Die Cut Divas challenge:

And the sponsor is Simply B Stamps:

I coloured the digi with Copics.  Diecut it using  a Spellbinders label, and then using the smaller sizes, die cut in sky blue, turquoise and sand colours.
A bit of sunshine, shells and some embossed waves - what a super way to spend the summer.

Kiss the Cook

There's no treat for me like someone else doing the cooking!  I'd kiss anyone who did it!

Barbecuing is such a summer treat anyway and the smells and sounds of that sizzle ... OMG I'm salivating already.  We are in the middle of winter here in NZ so I'm looking forward to those sounds of summer - bees, and barbecues.
I know some folk are into the sweet treats of summer but savoury is my thing, onion marmalade on an angus pattie, with red onions and drippy cheese......
