Birthday Shining

I love doing challenges, they really inspire and motivate me.  Thanks to all the challenge presenters out there - you do a great job!

Blue shining-look diecut panel, a daisy pattern paper background (a little bit of frosty sparkle here), diecut sentiment with metallic teal card.

This card looks really happy happy!  I like the way the type is randomly set. It feels happy.

Natures Secret

These summery butterflies bring an important thought.  The background is watercolour stencil printed using Ranger DI's.  Add a diecut banner, stamped Hero Arts butterflies coloured with DI's, gems,  Opal Dust on butterfly bodies, & twine.

These stamps are among my first papercrafting purchases many years ago, everything is from stash.

Peanuts Always Here

I have always loved Peanuts humour and was so pleased to get this stamp set (Practical Publishing) with a Creative Stamping magazine recently.  I stamped and coloured with Copics, white pen dots.  Diecut a frame and stamped the sentiment separately on the frame and gold embossed.  Base card is linen finish.  When you read the sentiment, remember it is Lucy!

Lucky Peanuts

I just got this Peanuts stamp set with Creative Stamping magazine by Practical Publishing.  It usually takes about 2 months for magazines to reach us.  It has loads of images all cute as can be!  I had to make something straight away.  These stamps are great for man cards - not frilly at all, but still leave a bit of love!

The background is watercolour card (so quite thick), coloured with Distress Oxide Spray and splatter.  I embossed it with a Cuttlebug EF, then distressed the edges.  The image panel is stamped, coloured with Copics, edges distressed.  I covered the black (drop-outs from a die) dots and hearts with Glossy Accents.

Amazing Cool

The base card is pale blue.  Background is made using leftover strips/snippets (Yes, I have a container of them) glued to a piece of card then overlaid with a diecut of positive words.   Snippet strips are smooth, glitter, textured & metallic.  What a great sentiment. Black dots embellishment.

I reckon this is a great card style for masculine as it doesn't have frills but is still colour-interesting.

Just a note

Another Parkinsons fundraiser red tulip card.

This is a stencil, coloured & shaded with Distress inks.  A red band edged in gold embossing with a stamped sentiment in gold embossing.  A little bit of glimmer with WoS on the blooms.

Rusty Crow

Two stencils on black card.  One using metallic watercolour paint, the other using two colours of Rust Effect paste from artExtravagance.  I made the sentiment on the computer and stacked it.  Gold pen, black pen, for eyes.  I put the frosted pearl in its mouth because I know they like to collect shiny things.

I know this isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I like it and I had fun making it.  I will just have to be selective with who I send it to.

Scotty Birthday

This was a request from a friend made for an older man's birthday.  His dog's name is Chloe - this stamp looks just like her.

I used a banner die, a little label diecut, a buckle die (Memory Box), and a doggy stamp & sentiment from Inkadinkado.  I cut a dog collar from the lime card and attached a tag from stash, stamped with a pawprint to continue the doggy theme.  I found googly eyes in my stash and decided to add them for a bit of fun.  Inside I added another collar strip along with a birthday greeting.

Wildflowers

I love this watercolourish look, even though it isn't watercolour at all!  It's just a stamp inked with various shades of blues & greens, how pretty is that?  The stamps are all IndigoBlu - flowers,  dragonfly & sentiment, and embossed.

Deer Tartan

A card requested by a friend for an outdoorsy deer hunter son, so ... masculine.

A tartan background paper diecut in an arch - I thought it would look like wallpaper.  The deer die is Crate Paper, nice and simple cut from a snippet of black card.  The sentiment is cut with a shadow in the colours of the tartan and shadow drawn with Copic marker as the yellow looked a bit boring otherwise.  The panel is matted onto blue leathergrain card, gold dots are snippets/drop-outs from other dies.  I love these tartan papers and have been saving them for special cards.

Waving Hello

WE love critters, we love seeing your critters - show us your critters!

Check out the design team's work, and join in here:  crittercrazy

Welcome to our next Challenge at Critter Crazy Challenge
with our theme "Anything Goes with a Featured Critter."
We want to see animals as the focus - whether real or fantasy!

I diecut the crabs and layered them, diecut the background panel and underlaid it with glittery sea.  Stamped and diecut the sentiment, attaching it with a silvery thread tangle, added black beads for eyes.  Doesn't it make you want to go for a swim?  Lie under an umbrella with a book?  I love summer.
