Always and Forever

This would be good for a wedding or anniversary.

The gorgeous lacy paper is one I've had in my stash for ages and I finally got to use it on something worthy.  The dies are cut from mirror card.

Two L Llama

This is a one-layer card.  I used a sketch for inspiration.

I printed the llama, coloured it with pencils to look festive. The circle is a die, held in place and sponged over with Distress Inks to make a frame.  The sentiment is stamped through the design.

Image: TiddlyInks
Coloured pencils
Die used as mask: Spellbinders
Sentiment stamp: Penny Black

Do you remember the poem about the 2L llama?  We learnt it in primary school in spelling class.   Here it is with an hilarious addition:

The one L lama, he's a priest
The two L llama, he's a beast
And I will bet my silk pyjama
There isn't any three L lllama.
-- Ogden Nash (to which a fire chief replied that occasionally
his department responded to something like a "three L lllama.")

Birthday Bruce

Our friend Bruce is a tinkerer.  He also has lots of old stuff - until just recently he had NINE sheds full of old stuff that "will come in useful one day" or that he was going to fix.

So I made him this card with vintage advertising paper (see the ad for artificial legs) and the spanner for tinkering.  Yes Bruce, I know you are slimmer than that!  But otherwise the image is pretty close.
I added a little surprise pop up sentiment inside the card.

Dawn's Bitz

As part of a swap, Dawn sent me some bitz from her desk to make a card with (we had to use at least 3 items).  I used a lot of her bitz; all I added of mine was the patterned background paper and the sentiment.

I sponged and spritzed the large nested diecuts and stamped over the largest one with random stamps. The butterfly is lightly sponged on the edges

This is the second card I've made with the bitz.

Here is the photo of what Dawn sent:

Sunny Tiles

I have been going through my stuff and re-discovered this old stamp - yes, rubber mounted on wood - which I haven't used for a very long time.
I decided to make it a bit moroccan looking, as it was a tile.

Stamp: Design Objectives
Heat embossed gold
Die: Spellbinders
Corner punch: unbranded
Sentiment die: X-cut
Sentiment stamp: Rosies Studio
Also, patterned paper, gems

School Dreams

We hope you join us at INCY WINCY for this fortnight's challenge.  The theme is Back To School/Children.  See what the DT have been up to, and enter your work here:  incywincydesigns

Thanks to Little Blue Button Stamps for this image, get it here:  TEACHER CHARLIE.

Image: Little Blue Button Stamps
Coloured with Copics
Stencil: Tim Holtz
Border punch: Fiskars
Sentiment Stamp: Newtons Nook
Also Patterned paper, White Pigment Pen, gem, Distress Inks.
The little flower is a drop out from a diecut.

I copied the image into Word and enlarged it.  I printed it onto white card and cut it vertically to her head, then around her on the right side only, trimming the bottom to make it the right size for the card.  I also printed the image onto printer paper, cut it out and used it as a mask to stencil the left hand side of the image.  The patterned paper is a very large number page which I've had for a long time and never used, but was so suitable for this project.  Another piece of white card is punched, cut to shape and lightly inked, before stamping the sentiment.

Ted's Cuppa

I hope you join us in another double choice challenge at the Crafters Café.  This time it's SCHOOL or TEA/COFFEE.
See what the design team have done for your inspiration, here:  crafterscafeblogchallenge

Thanks to Morgans Artworld for providing this image, get it here: Morgans Art World

I think Ted has had a busy day clearing out the garden and deserves a nice cuppa tea and a sit down.  His little mouse friends are still busy while he looks at what he'll plant in spring.

A Flutter of Butterflies

I don't use stencils a lot, but it's fun and I plan to do it more.  I made this for a NZ cardswap.

I stencilled the butterflies with Distress Inks, then when they were dry, used the same stencil to highlight one butterfly in texture paste.  The mat card is stenciled with stars in silver Versacolor with edges inked, before the top card is attached with 3D foam.

Both stencils: Rosie's Studio
Die: Spellbinders
Sentiment stamp (gold emb): PrintWorks
Also: Glitter Kiss paste, charm, cord.

Flowers Tied

Who doesn't like a bunch of flowers?  Come on, hands up.  I thought not.

For this one, I smooshed card in pinks, reds & greens, stamped over them, cut them out and layered them.  This stamp set is very versatile and can be used in lots of ways.  The background in sponged with Distress Inks, mostly around the edges, then spritzed to make it more interesting.

Hibiscus Red

Hibiscus come in lots of colours but I think this vibrant colour is my favourite.

I used an inlaid die technique for the flower.  This die is perfect for this technique.

Flower die: unbranded
Sentiment die: Wplus9
Various scraps of card - two colours for the flower and two for the leaf, plus gold mirror card for the stamen.

Bear Hugs

This bear, with such a blissful look on his face and who obviously loves to dance, is looking for someone to put his arms around.  Gotta make you at least smile.

I stamped onto scrap paper and cut it out for a mask, coloured onto card by with sponging distress inks, removed the mask and stamped the bear over in black ink.  The diecut sentiment is stacked once, sponged with distress inks and clear heat embossed a couple of times.

Oddball Fairies

Incy Wincy challenge has a THINGS WITH WINGS theme this time.  Spot what the design team have done, here:  incywincydesigns

I made this for an internet friend who has challenges everyday and is going through a very hard time at the moment.  C, I think of you lots.  You've earned your wings!

I combined the images on the computer then printed them.  They are deliberately stacked - they are the support fairies who stand behind you and watch your back.  I also printed the same image on paper, cut it out and used it as a mask, sponging with soft fairy colours.
