Welcome, I'm so glad you're here! Being creative is a big part of my life, and this is where I can show you some of the things I do.

I love heat embossing - it was one of the first techniques I learned and the magic still happens. This time I used white EP on the tree and gold EP for the senti, sponged over with Distress Inks, then misted and splotted with perfect pearls mist. I then sponged over the tree and sun to make it stand out from the background, and inked the edges.

It is curved and fits with lots of Christmas images
I like this distressed tartan paper and thought it was good for a masculine card for my special person.

iSpy #50 Photographic Challenge
Every week, Lysha puts up a photographic challenge with prompts for us to look out for, then we share on Lysha's Saturday (my Sunday). It's always wonderful to see how people are inspired.
This week the prompts were: Color Pink, Package, Starts with S, the end, your choice.
PINK: I tipped out my bag of pink beads. Oops, how did those blue ones sneak in there?
and another PINK: the last of the rhododenrunPackage: This scurrying oystercatcher has a little package in its beak it is taking back to it's mate. I think it's a pod of some kind. Taken on my phone while we were at the beach for an overnighter with friends on Wednesday. This is taken at Whitianga, a popular summer destination.
Starts withS: seashore. Also taken while we had a couple of days away this week in the Coromandel Peninsula. This is a place called Matarangi. The shore has been planted to provide habitat.
The end: The end of the day. Our backyard looking west.
Your choice: Jingle bells! The decorations up the stairs.
I like the simplicity and punch of this CAS card.
Stamp: Magazine freebie (Practical Publishing)
Also: ribbon, gold pen splatter

Every week, Lysha puts up a photographic challenge with prompts for us to look out for, then we share on Lysha's Saturday (my Sunday). It's always wonderful to see how people are inspired.
This week the prompts were: Sparkles, starts with J, Lit, Used, Your choice.
Sparkles: it's the obvious one I know, but I love the sparkly bit of Christmas.
Starts with "J": Our grandson Jackson helping to unload stones for mulching the garden. Because we rely on rainwater collection for our water supply, we have made water-minimal gardens which seems to work well. The vege garden is in the background. The big fence is to keep rabbits and pukeko out.
Lit: Another Christmas pic. The Christmas arrangement on our dining table.
Used: a well-used flatiron (haha, but not by me!). The only ironing I do is for sewing & quilting.
Own choice: This is Mr Quail sitting on my rotary clothesline. I took it this morning. SO far he has been sitting there calling for over an hour!

Every now and then, I make myself use colours I either don't like, or hardly ever use. And I like to use my dies to create - what could be more simple than a circle?
This is one of those. I find orange difficult, but thought it made a great bauble with the turquoise. I made the bauble using a circle die and just snipping a gold finial on the top from corrugated card. I like the simple shapes with the dramatic non-trad colours. These are joyful colours!

I am pleased to be guest designer for Let's Squash It challenges, look here for details: letssquashit-15-its-your-call
The challenge is to use any EF plus any technique you've tried recently.
This is a technique that I found from Jennifer McGuire, here: youtube It is called the Filled Embossing Folder technique and uses pastes to fill in the indented part of the EF.
I used a basketweave folder and glitter paste on black card for some glamour. Below you can see how it looks before pasting. What a great way to get more mileage from your EFs.

Incy Wincy Designs Challenge has a choice for you: A Selected Colour Palette or Warm Colours. You choose. Be inspired by the DT and join us here: incywincydesigns
This is my last post with the Incy Wincy DT, but be sure to keep visiting me as I carry on card making. I used the Selected Palette of Colours. I try to make a card a day, and after all these years I still love it.
I printed the digi image once on card and once on paper so I could apply patterned paper to piece for her bodice and hat. The background is made with Lozzy's papers Pastel Mixed Media, get them here: ninspapercrafting
