Waterscape

A scenic card suitable for bereavements;  I seem to be needing a lot of these lately.

My own painting with watercolours on watercolour paper, touched up with Inktense Pencils.  I love this stamped sentiment from Taylored Expressions.  Base card is dark blue.

Dotty Deer

Masculine? I reckon.

Fab dotty p.paper, stamped embossed senti, diecuts galore.  I think the deer is Sizzix/TimHoltz, but I can't find it now (maybe I gave it away?), stamped dotty speckles on it's back.  Layers, layers, layers. Kraft colour using repurposed manilla folders.

Downhill Birthday

Such a fun image (I'm sure none of us look like that, but sometimes I feel like that), and a bit snarky.  Gotta love those bunny slippers.

Art Impressions image stamped, coloured with Copics and fussy cut.  The background paper (which has some sparkly stripes) has edges inked with DI's, and a downhill slope of coordinating card.  It's like a bit of carpet for her to stand on. The happy face has a dot of Glossy Accents.  All from stash.

Purple Moment

Shades of purple, very calm.  I seem to have been working in purple lately, what is that about?

The background is a coverplate panel die, a great way to add interest without being fussy.  The circle is a die cut with sentiment diecut to match using Spellbinders.  Lots of strips/snippets of purple with differrent textures, and a cute star I found in my Bitz Box.

Welcome to the Neighbourhood

Inside says "... to say welcome to the neighbourhood".  A new someone moved in last week - this is for them.

I stamped the house which is in two bits, then swiped a versacolor cube of dark green along the bottom to look like grass. The sentiment (Finnabar) is stamped directly, as is the heart coming out of the chimney.

Joy Easel

This is for a friend called Joy it's her birthday soon.  I know she will love the House Mouse.

I used a side opening card as the base.  The image is House Mouse.  The patterned paper has frosty glitter on some of the flowers, and I used blue double sided Cuttlebug card for the circle and mats.  The Cuttlebug card has two shades of the same colour and that meant the circle looked good from the other side too.  The diecut circle was stamped with Versamark ink in a random dotty pattern and embossed with Stampendous Stardust glitter EP.  The HOuse mouse stamp is coloured with Inktense coloured pencils with white gel pen highlights.

For the stopper I used a brad and punched a flower (Martha Stewart), I put little dots of white gel pen on the brad and centre of the punched flowers to match the image flower.  Stickles is added to the sprigs of greenery.  It really does sparkle.

Apple of My Eye

I've had this cute stamp for years and still like it, it has such a joyful feeling.  It also has options for what to put in the basket, here I've used apples.  It also has shamrocks, hearts etc.

The stamp set is Sugar Pea, coloured with Intense coloured pencils.  I like using these because I can have it on my lap and colour in front of tv.  When I stuck the image on, I used foam tape at the top  behind the apples to make them pop up.  The base card is iridescent and looks great with this gingham patt.paper which is diecut raggedy, using the same die set for the sentiment.  A stamped sentiment is from a different stamp set, added some white pen highlights and a snippet of glittery bow.  The dots are dropouts from a die, I love using them, and they don't get damaged in the mail.

Happy Anniversary

A bit of real life?  Amazing Fact: hearing aids don't actually work by sitting in their box/charger by the bed ...

Whimsy Stamps stamp is coloured with Copics with detail, fussy cut, popped up on foam tape.  The EF background is a magazine freebee, a large square EF cut down to size.

Carpenter Birthday

We have an elderly friend in his eighties who is always making furniture for his demanding children and grandchildren.  It's his birthday soon so I thought I'd acknowledge his role as carpenter extraordinaire.  I really enjoy making these personalised cards for people I know will enjoy them.

The image is a QKR digital coloured with Copics and fussy cut; popped up on foam tape.  Background is a Sizzix EF with texture and screws, spritzed with several layers of Distress Ink Sprays,  rubbed over the screws with brown DI, and coated them with Ranger Glossy Accents.  The Kraft board with the sentiment is embossed with Sizzix woodgrain, edge border smoothed with bone folder in scoring board and screwed using silver dots with a line through.  A couple of tool charm diecuts from dieNamics stuffed into his toolkit.  White pen highlights.

Icecream Friends

Show us your animals!  That's what Critter Crazy challenges are all about.  All you have to have is an animal as your focal point - we'd love to see what you can do!  Join us here: crittercrazy

A fun summer card, not serious at all.  I love these images by Anita Jeram.  Oooh, when you were a kid, didn't you hate this happpening?

I chose to use some cool cats by Anita Jeram/Colorado Stamps, coloured with Copics on a diecut panel set wonky.  Mesh net on a pink base card and a sentiment casually stapled on.  The sentiment from the same stamp set, is stamped onto a diecut ticket coloured/dabbed with Ranger Spun Sugar Distress Inks, stapled on  with some cool blue staples I found somewhere years ago.  The icecreams also have Stickles for sparkle, and a few gems....  Ranger Stickles on the icecreams, gems added in the corner.

At Pokeno, NZ we have icecream shops that are famous for giving giant icecreams in so many flavours - I made these flavours chocolate chip, raspberry sorbet, and neapolitan with a flake bar.

Baby Boots

Babies arriving are a great reason to celebrate.

Here I used a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder on pale blue-green pearlescent card for the background panel.   The diecut bootee (Marianne 'eline sock') is pieced, then ribbon threaded through and pearls added.  The Hero Arts sentiment is silver embossed.

Birthday Flora

I go through stages of re-discovering stash I haven't used in a while, getting inspired by it and trying to use it.  That's how this one happened.

Here I started with a rich dark green border frame diecut I had in the Bitz Box on my desk (stuff that gets done for some reason, discarded and thrown in the Bitz Box for another day).  Sometimes it's a long time until that day comes.  I cut a shadow for the greeting from the same card, and the words from gold mirror card.  The leafy patterned paper was sitting handy too and they just went together so nicely.  The whole panel got wrapped up with lighter green cord and gold pearls added.  I love gold pearls.

Hi Sunshine

I made this for a male neighbour who ended up in hospital for nearly five months, sent just to cheer him up.

The background is stencilled with DI's, some Ranger Stickles here and there on the sun rays.  Stamped image (Stampin'Up) and sentiment, all matted onto black.

Bee-you-tiful

I have an affinity with bees, gotten as a child from my granddad who was a beekeeper.  He used to tell stories about the bees, and lectured about bees at the local Agricultural College.  They are so importaant to human survival.  For a great read, find the novel: "Remember Me" by Charity Norman to see how amazing they are.

The background is smooshed DI's misted with perfect pearls.  The sentiment stamp is a magazine freebee gold embossed.  The panel is diecut and matted onto copper metallic card.  A dot of Ranger Stickles on the layered diecut bee, popped up on dimensional foam.

Bee Friends Sunflower

My granddad was a beekeeper and told me stories about the bees when I was a kid.  He used to lecture at the local Agricultural College on bees.   Even up until recently I used to go amongst bees in the garden and they would just carry on around me.
For a great read, find the novel: "Remember Me" by Charity Norman to see how amazing they are.

Soft yellow panel embossed.  Sunflower stamped onto a scrap of ink smooshed card and fussy cut with a bit of Copic marker shadow colouring, gold metallic pen stamen dots.  The sentiment is matted onto black card to show up the sentiment.  A diecut bee with vellum wings ( from my BitzBox) visiting the flower.
