Each week, Lysha puts up a photographic challenge with prompts for us to look out for, then we share on Lysha's Saturday (my Sunday). Get inspired!

This week the prompts were: Lined, Spiral, Spotted, Ordered, your choice.

Lined: I made this patchwork bag a while ago.  When I made it I wanted a punchy lining so that when it was opened it was surprising.  I used a fabric with encouragement words in different colours.    Huh, I just realised it's spotted too.

Spiral:  This is my homemade bird scarer!  It's a plastic spiral attached to the archway thing I use for the bean frame, and hangs down with a CD attached to it.  It spins in the breeze.

Spotted:  My spotted cookie jar - I see it everyday and it cheers me up it's such a happy colour.

Ordered:

Your choice:  At last I have some monarch caterpillars on my swan plant.  Earlier in the summer the wasps got them when they were little caterpillars.  The plant has flowered and even got swans.

I hope you enjoy this little slice of my life.

Butterfly Thinking

An experiment with inking direct to paper.  I decided to keep the rest simple as there was enough going on in the background. I think the silhouettes and background show off each other, added in a bit of white splatter to the background.

Die:

Sentiment: HeroArts

Also: white acrylic paint, glitter gems

Wildflowers

The background is made using a stitched pattern, then misted with interference gold.  The diecuts are a great way to use up snippets of card and papers.  The yellow flowers and dragonfly are leftover bits of smoosh.

Background die: unknown

Flowers dies: Sizzix/Tim Holtz

Also: pearls, interference gold mist

HM&F #361 MYOB-Easter

 House Mouse & Friends

The theme is Make Your Own Background.  The background is smooshed Distress Inks with gold splatter. I laid down a strip of gold washi for a floor, and fussy cut the image.  This is one of the new House Mouse  stamps.  And yes, darling, you get a belly ache if you eat too many sweets!

Also: Copics, Distress Inks, gold washi, gold perfect pearls, white pen

Each week, Lysha puts up a photographic challenge with prompts for us to look out for, then we share on Lysha's Saturday (my Sunday). Get inspired!

This week the prompts were: Front yard quarterly, propped, starts with C, Through, Your choice.

Front yard quarterly:  this will be the last one taken here; the house is sold and we move in six weeks.

Propped:  I propped this lovely note I received in the mail from our granddaughter, who lives a distance away, anticipating a wee holiday with us.

Starts with C:  China Collection spotted in a cafe.

Through:   Put the knife THROUGH the slots to get nice even slices of homemade bread.

Your choice:  My fat bottom girls, out having a hunt and peck in the garden.

Check out the amazing range of photos taken under these prompts, here:  ispy-63

Each week, Lysha puts up a photographic challenge with prompts for us to look out for, then we share on Lysha's Saturday (my Sunday). Get inspired!

This week the prompts were: Weather quarterly, Opposite, Statue, behind the scenes, your choice.

Weather (quarterly):  We haven't had rain for ages and are desperate for some (see how the grass has died).  Today some clouds came and looked like rain, but sailed off again.

Opposite:  We spent the week at Whitianga (a small beach town), and on our way out for dinner, I spotted this lovely reflection of what is opposite the restaurant.  I thought it looked like the elephants were walking down the street!

Statue:  Also taken in the centre of the town Whitianga, the statues of birds as you walk along the birds turn.  The pattern carved out of the wings is a traditional maori design.

Behind the scenes:  (At Whitianga)  You might have guessed I'm a bit fascinated with reflections at the moment.  Here is a  quilt shop window.   It has a quilt with a scene and then the reflection adds the scene of the street.

Your choice:  ON our way back from the restaurant we walked along the beach.  The moon was rising and made a lovely shot (even if the exposure is up the creek.  Taken on my phone).  You might even spot some birds that were taking a moonlight stroll as well.

Have a look at what other folks have done, here:

Chicky Hugs

I love this bouncy chicky image and printed it onto green dotty paper for fun instead of colouring it the usual yellow chicky colour.  Nice for any occasion.

I don't know whether I like it CAS or with the extras... what do you think?

At the Crafters Cafe this month the theme is USE SOME FLOWERS.  I had this lovely floral never-used-before stamp & layered die set that went perfectly with the Polkadoodles image.  Get it here: polkadoodles.co.uk/snowdrop-the-darling-buds

I diecut the flower and added Stickles.

HM&F #361 Own background

 House Mouse & Friends

The theme is Make Your Own Background.  I had a bit of fun with this new stamp, by fussy cutting one of the mice and making him stand in a handdrawn puddle on a misted background.   I popped up the top of the image with foam tape, stuffed the bottom of him into a cut in the background.  The raindrops sparkle in the light.

Each week, Lysha puts up a photographic challenge with prompts for us to look out for, then we share on Lysha's Saturday (my Sunday). Get inspired!

This week the prompts are: Window View Quarterly, Topped Off, On Time, Starts with P, your choice.

Window View:  this is what I see from my desk upstairs in the craft room.  Often quail families will wander by and Mr Pheasant of course, not mention all the other birds that visit.  I will miss it when we leave.  In this pic I like the fact that the blinds reflected in my oh-so-clean windows to make a nice border.

Topped Off:  What better than icecream TOPPED OFF with passionfruit sauce?

ON TIME:  This is a clock Ian made from an old fence post complete with nail holes.  Isn't he clever?

Starts with P:  this one has to be Peppers.  This plant seems to grow all sorts of colours including red, green, brown, and black!  How does it do that??

Your choice:  I choose Blackberries.  These are thornless ones I grow in the garden; I get a handful every two days - perfect for a smoothie.

I hope you will go and look a the other blogs, here:  ispy-61
