Joy Wreath

 

I love this wreath die, this time it's a Christmassy one.    

The wreath layers are  cut from smooshed and shimmer misted card, a leafy layer and a flowery layer.  The berries are punched in two sizes with a Crop-o-dile and added Glossy Accents.  I chose the de-bossed side of the EF.

The image is coloured and fussy cut with Stickles added to the hats and a paper pieced cosy blanket.  I just happened to have EP for the stamped sentiment the same colour as the sparkle card for the background! Amazing!  I didn't want an obvious Christmas sentiment, so added a more general one.  There was so much going on in the image I just punched two corners, more and I think it would've looked messy.  Gotta know when to stop eh?

Surfy Santa

 Here in NZ we have a midsummer Christmas celebrated in the heat with a glass of chilled something or other sipped under a shady tree!  I hope it makes you feel hot if you're in a cold climate.

So here is a summer santa looking sharp (and cool) in his beach shorts and shirt, with paper piecing, dry embossing, and stencilling.  The paper piecing is from tiny snippets of leftover patterned paper.

Toadstool Tag

 

A  fun fungi tag.  Double die cut tag, painted, then sprayed and smooshed.  The sentiment is cut from packaging, stacked.  Fungi splattered with Perfect pearls mist.

Snowflake Deer

 

I wanted a CAS style using understated colouring.  Firstly I stamped the deer and coloured it.  Made a mask using a post-it note, cut it out and used it to mask the deer while stamping the trees and snowflakes with speckled Egg DI's and splattering with white paint (which hardly shows).   Coloured the deer with Copics.  White pen highlights and Opal Dust for sparkle.

Penguin Joy

 

I made this one using a piece of wrapping paper (background), magazine page(red triangle), and a sliver of gold.  I cannot get enough of this gorgeous thick matt wrapping paper (free in a magazine), I love the images and colours and thought little Pengi would like to be in the action.  Penguins are such joyful little creatures.

Pengi is stamped, coloured with Copics and fussy cut.  Joy stamp is a mag freebie from way back, Pengi is unbranded.  Also white pen highlights and Stickles.

Frosty Copper Thankful

 

Background card and small senti coloured by smooshing with DI's and misting with Perfect Pearls gold, corners punched.  Wreath layers and large sentiment made by smooshing coloured card with DOxI's and Copper Glimmer Mists.  Sentiment stacked, Berries punched out of leftover snippets with crop-o-dile both sides and stacked.  This is currently one of my favourite dies and I have been experimenting with ways to make it different.

Thankful Pumpkins

 

I love pumpkin pie, pumpkin soup, roast pumpkin - actually thankful for pumpkin any way it comes it is one of my favourite fruits/vegetables.  I like the weathered look of these pumpkins, popped up on 3D foam with a bit of frosty sparkle.  For the pumpkins, I coloured card with Distress Paint, paint dabbers & Oxide DI's, (salted one) then diecut.

Thinking Poppies

 

I like simple best.  Sometimes crafting is not expensive; I used a kids painting set from the dollar shop to colour & splatter.

Enmbossed Stamp is unknown, sentiment (I think) is a magazine freebie.  I used a kids watercolour set to paint the poppies, touched up with Copics.  The splatter is also from the kids watercolour set. And a matching envelope teaser.

This is for one of the sons-in-law who is a hunter.  I smooshed card with a selection of Distress Inks to make the deer.

Autumn Wreath

 

I like this Ikat EF, it is big enough to take the whole front of a card without leaving a hard edge.  I cut the wreath die once for leaves and once for flowers.

The EF is Heidi Swapp.  The dies (wreath & sentiments) are unbranded; the card they are cut from are smooshed and dabbed with Distress Inks, misted with Glimmermists (see the sparkle) and inked again.  The sentiments are stacked, and the berries are punched with both sides of a Crop-o-dile from snippets of coloured waste card.

Dance Hamster

 

This one makes me feel like dancing.  A nice reminder for the year ahead for someone having a birthday.

The hamster is stamped onto patterned paper and paperpieced.  Whiskers added with black pen. The EP is Tim Holtz distressed which has a bit of sparkle, perfect for the sentiment.  I used the same ink set that I used for the inside sentiment and made a rainbow border along the bottom of the inner.
