Autumn My Friend

White card ink blended with DI's in yellows and oranges.  Water stamped with numbers and letters stamps.  Diecuts: a note page from pretty paper, a leaf and a heat embossed sentiment (Dienamics).  The leaf is rubbed with a little gold Paint Stik.  The paper has edges inked and curled.

Wicked

Halloween seems to be a very american thing, in NZ we don't generally go in for this. I'm not sure what the colours represent, but they are fun together.  I am going to give this to my friend who always makes halloween cards for her grandchildren.

I used a cuttlebug web EF,  some snippet strips from my box,  Tim Holtz stamps for the ghosts and sentiment, and a touch of WoS for sparkle. Ghosts are popped on foam tape.  Now, thinking about it I could have used a wobbler.  Look at that shimmer, what disco divas these two are!

Leafy Thanks

I was sent the leaf skeletons by a crafty friend (you know who you are).   I recently won the challenge at Word Art Wednesday which was various adhesives from Stix2Anything, an amazing prize; I made this using some of their products and sent to them in appreciation.

I paired the leaves and added a diecut shadow sentiment in gold and black.  The brown paper is Bo Bunny double dot, which is textured, motley and vaguely distressed looking.  Nuvo gold dots added.  Lots of lovely texture in the paper and the leaves.

Acorn celebration

A wonderful technique, kind of a reverse inking.  The de-bossed side of the card is coloured in the hollows, then a direct-to-paper swiping of black ink on the high bits.  It takes a bit of time and care but gives a super result.  I used Distress Inks for all the inking, matted onto gold, then onto a black card base.  Stamped gold embossed sentiment popped up on foam tape.  Tim Holtz Acorns 3D EF.

Pretty in Pink

I made this for a friend in our New Zealand cardswap group, the theme was "curves".   I made a curvy cut, a curvy lady and some curvy flowers.

The flowers from Stix2anything are watercolour paper (part of a recent prize), so I dipped them in a couple of  DI's colours so they are nicely watercoloury, when dry I drew stamens and dotted gold Nuvo Drops.  The leaves are petals of the same flowers but cut into leaf shapes the other way up and inked green.  The stamped lady is coloured with Copics, touched with WoS for sparkle, and fussy cut.  The pretty pink and vanilla paper is My Minds Eye, a lovely distressed, blotchy paisley. It is held closed with a tiny velcro dot.     Sentiment is Rosie's Studio.

Leafy Tag

A scrap of DI smooshed card *, overstamped and gold embossed with background leafy stamp.  Ends masked and inked with Versamark and gold embossed. Wrapped in vellum with stamped white embossed senti (same sized card on back to conceal the ends).  A small leafy diecut in gold.  *Whenever I use DI's, if I have ink on my glass mat I automatically mist and smoosh leftover bits of card so they are ready to use later.

Birthday Fishes

The Critter Crazy challenge always features a creature.  We would like to see your work with the critter, check it out and join us, here: crittercrazy
A whale of a tail... or was that a mermaid? Tropical waters and pearls.

A salute to tropical days recently spent in Samoa during our southern winter: the background die represents the frangipani flowers, the swirly, watery patterned paper in the background, pearls from the giant clams and a little ... well large ... something fishy.  The tail is diecut from iridescent card.

What is better than a tree?  Lots of them.  I made a forest using Tim Holtz Bottlebrush Trees and Distress Oxide inks.
The background is smooshed Distress Inks misted with Perfect Pearls.  I used Simon Says Stamp "Squovals" die set stacked to frame the trees.  A sprig of pine needles from Tim Holtz "Festive Gatherings" tied to the frame with twine. The sentiment is Tim Holtz "Tiny Text" and I used Simon Says Stamp "Beautiful and Curious" over and over again for the dotty bits under the trees.

Celebrate Cake

I made this to celebrate someone who is the same age as me.  I liked the feminine look and enjoyed making it.  I also like being able to use up bits that sit in a box on my desk (pattpapers & image).    It's a digital image, coloured with Copics (I think it's Scribbles, not sure).  I cut the papers to fit an angle and accentuated the angle with a gold peel-off strip.  The candles have Stickles for sparkle.

I have been invited to be in the Designer Spotlight on the  Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.   I am so glad it was this month too - STAMPtember - as I love stamping.

The sentiment is the focus and this is a bold one - Simon Says Stamp "XL Stacked Greetings", stamped on a bold orange colour with inked edges.  The background is Simon Says Stamp "Fresh Fruit" stamped in light green DIstress Ink on lemon coloured textured card. One fruit is coloured with blended Distress Ink, doodled and tied to the sentiment banner with a bow die from Tim Holtz "Funky Floral Wreath".  The border is Tim Holtz "Vault Edges".  Splatter is Distress Oxide Spray Uncharted Mariner.
