Bunny Hugs

A bit of spring in colour and theme.  Spring is in the air.

I love these cuddling bunnies (Colorado Stamps) coloured with Copics, and fussy cut.  Diecut tab stitched border, diecut stacked sentiment word with vellum shadow.  A touch of Stickles on the flower, a bit of gloss and sparkle in the paper used for the sentiment.

Interactive Hello

I luurrve froggies and had a wonderful chance to use a lot of my dies on this card.  I made this for our NZ cardswap, the theme is an interactive card with a surprise twist.

I searched for something interactive that was new to me and found a great tutorial by Jennifer McGuire: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZESrcpGjEc

This was not my first attempt I must say, but I am pleased with this, my final attempt.  The twist is two hidden frogs - see if you can find them.

The background pinprick panel is MFT.  Circle dies Spellbinders.  PPaper is Papermania (which I have had for years).  I diecut all the bits and then started to construct.  The top-fold base card is sponged on the front with DI's in a random pattern.  I wanted the word to be shiny, so before diecutting I stuck wide clear packing tape onto the card (way easier than painting  GAccents on a large area).  "Croak" is diecut from an alphabet set. Also: DI's, gold pen, black pen, Opal Dust (sparkle on the waterlily flowers).   I also decorated the insert with leftover bits and another hidden frog.

I had already written inside, so for the photograph, I  put a loose bit of paper over to cover what I had written.

Starry Sky

I love to check out the night sky and look for satellites etc.  At the moment the planets are lined up and easy to see.  It is so calming to be out there at night knowing you are a tiny dot in a big universe, and all this happens without you lifting a finger.

I blended the background with Distress Oxide inks, spritzed with water to activate, then splattered with white Distress Stain.  The negative of a diecut is used as a stencil with BoBunny Glitter Paste for the stars.  Stamped the constellations with silver ink. Stamped sentiment.  Stamped the critters, smooshed them with DI's to colour.   They are diecut & stacked.

Lucy Birthday

Yes, we're all about animals at Critter Crazy.  I'm sure you have favourite critters to share.
The design team have lots of inspiration; join us here with yours:  crittercrazychallenge

Lucy's first birthday has a pretty dotty paper background, some animal die cuts that are stacked.  Other diecuts include the banners (which are suspended from the cord, so they are a bit interactive) and the number (which is cut from pearlescent card).  The heart is a drop-out from another die.

Rainbow Butterflies

For a celebration what could be better than a flutter of butterflies in rainbow colours?

Congratulations and cheers! clink! to Pixies Snippets Playground on your 500th challenge,  pixiessnippetsplayground

I diecut the butterflies in black, added to a panel.  Diecut rainbow butterflies from snippets of card - you only need a tiny bit - to add on top! I fingered on a bit of Opal Dust to give them a little sparkle.  The senti and bodies cut from brushed silver card so they weren't too bright.

Die:    MemoryBox

Sentiment die: Poppy Stamps

Also: Sequins, Opal Dust

Bookmark Blues

Inspired by the bookmark the lovely Brenda included with my recent prize.  What a nice surprise it was!

A leftover strip of card,  smooshed with DI's.  Spritzed with shimmer, stencilled with stars and dots (stencil made with a leftover diecut & DOxI's) & stamped.  An irregular top border cut freehand (to keep the kinda weird theme), added hand-drawn borders top & bottom.  White dots and black dots made with pens, some Copic stripes & eyes added to the people.  Gilding flakes to random spots, yarn threads.

Gilded Bicycle

During the week I received this stamp set as a challenge prize from the lovely Brenda at Allsorts (thanks again Brenda!).  I couldn't wait to use it.

I stamped the image twice, once on the card panel and once on spare card to use as a mask.  I spritzed the card with water and splattered with Colour Fusion powders, more spritzing, more powders before removing the mask.  The when it was dry I put 2 in 1 glue on random flower petals and some parts of the background, when dry added gilding flakes (OMG how does anyone control them? I ended up covered in little bits!), rubbing the excess off.  I wanted the stamp to be the hero of the card, so didn't colour anything else.

Stamps:  AALL & CREATE

Also: Colour Fusion powders, Cosmic Shimmer gilding flakes.

Shaker Day

Shaker jar, with homemade shaker.  I diecut and used 3D foam to make the shaker using acetate film and sequins from stash.  Stamped the background of it with the greeting (Rosie's Studio) so that when the recipient took it out of the envelope the greeting was covered with sequins and they had to shake it and discover.  The top of the jar is brushed silver card. I thought the patterned paper was pretty by itself and had some distress markings, so inked the edges, it really didn't need anything else.

Squeeze Me Strippy

It seems I can't stop using up my scraps/snippets.  A different selection of papers to the ScrapBust from my scrap box, but it happened to be sitting on my desk along with the smooshed colour heart, a snippet of ribbon and little snippet of white that I made a tag from, which is stamped with a senti and a heart.   Hearts diecut from patterned paper with edges inked. This time it's a valentine card, shading red through to pink.

The picture (from an ephemera sheet of old paintings - must be at least 15 -20 years old, so neglected) and smooshed heart is from my Bitz box.  The strips just needed organising into shaded/ombre order.

Heart dies: ALLCreate, Couture Creations

Picture unknown (really old)

Tiny heart stamp & senti: unknown

Also: DI's, ribbon, gems, papers are snippets/strips leftover from various collections & pads.

Cheesy Grate

CAS and cheesy, but a grate/great card to send a friend.  The cheese is stamped and diecut from some previously sponged/smooshed card from my bitz box.  The panel is sponged like ombre, and added sentiment (always grate to tell someone they are wonderful) which came with the cheese set.  I like blue and yellow together.  Blokes seem like things like puns and cheesy sayings, so I'll keep this for one of the grandsons.

Butterfly Thoughts

Embossing, smooshing, splattering, spritzing, stamping, diecutting - it's got it all!  Inspired by the photo from inspiration station.

I letter pressed the hearts embossing folder (Sizzix) with dark blue ink, then smooshed with DI's, edges in purple.  Splattered with Distress Spray Stain in black and white.  The flowers are diecut from various red cardstock snippets and assembled.  I used transference gold spray on the butterfly and flowers to get some texture and glitteryness.  Diecut and stamped sentiment.  A little bit of Nuvo Drops gold.

Hearty Hugs

A bit of 3D embossing, inking, diecutting, sponging (DI), misting, splattering (gold interference & red DI), stamping and sparkle (tiny heart diecut drop-out bit).  I re-discovered this scribble heart die (TimHoltz) when I was looking for something else, I haven't used it for five years or maybe longer, so neglected.  Bought in 2017.

Friendship Purple

Lots of using up stuff.   Gorgeous patterned paper, silver strips, home made flowers out of snippets with inked edges, bits of card main one distressed, and an embossed senti stamp I've had for a long time and hardly used.  I reckon when you're doing flowers, greenery is a neutral.
