Penny's Papercrafty Challenge is sponsored by Mirtillament this time. I am pleased to be a guest designer, so have a look at the design team's offering and be inspired to join in, here: pennyspapercraftychallenges
Welcome, I'm so glad you're here! Being creative is a big part of my life, and this is where I can show you some of the things I do.
Using the eclipse technique (see tutorials on youtube, GinaK), slightly modified - I used two colours (purple on one panel and black on the other), and the background used two different dies because I didn't like the first one.

Our (grown up, middle aged) son, loves lolly cake and has some fun mugs which he uses when facetiming as part of his job. He has been heard to use the common saying when relinquishing responsibility "Not my circus, not my monkeys". I found this great mug with "oh, that's right, it is my circus, they are my monkeys"... so he got that with two rolls of his favourite lolly cake. He loved it, and I know he won't share the lolly cake with anyone!

For this one I stamped the image and experimented with Distress Inks smooshing to colour the grass and the trees. I liked the arty result. The rest of it I coloured with Copics. The edges of the panel are inked with gold.
I won these wonderful stamps in an Allsorts challenge recently (thanks Brenda! allsortschallenge), they arrived yesterday and I couldn't wait to use them. For the background I used some card I had bubbled several years ago using food colouring (google for tutorials on this technique). How appropriate are the bubbles? It's easy and makes a pretty background. I stamped the mermaid and her fishy friend using Versafine Onyx ink, using off-the-page technique, and inked the edges with DI's. Some of her scales are coloured in pinks and lavenders, Stickles on scales and in her hair for sparkle.

I love leafy dies and cut these from various snippets of card from my bitz box. I inked edges of the leaves and rubbed a touch of gilding wax over. The leaves are adhered with the ends of the leaves free and slightly curled.

This is an embossing folder I have had for ages and hardly used. I used DI's as watercolour to paint the flowers and fussy cut the edges to the embossed shape. The sentiment is stamped in purple ink and clear embossed. I always seem to have trouble photographing sparkly or shiny things.

I made this for October's NZ cardswap. We had to use a kitchen theme and put a summer recipe in a pocket (we are just coming into summer).
I used an apron die, sliced a pocket in the front for the recipe, which is a berry mousse dessert). The die set came with the tools. The bakers twine has a little bit of gold thread running through. All this stuff is from my stash. The inside is also decorated with the theme. These have to be my fave colours.

I don't usually use premade toppers, but this one is just so folksy and autumny - love those jugs of cider!. I've had it forever (about 15 years I think) and am trying to use from my stash. The sentiment also came with a set and just seemed right with this image.
I wanted to use PPapers from my stash, edges slightly inked randomly. Actually all of the items are from stash. Dark brown card which I tore one edge of, sticky grid tape with the ends cut rough, and a hessian star. The sentiment label has a slash of turquoise paint, crumpled textured card and a brad.

Here in NZ it is spring, and of course all the birds are out and about doing birdie business. We generally don't have brightly coloured birds, and certainly don't have woohoo birds, but I couldn't resist a little fun.
I used some previously smooshed card snippets to die cut the bird. Patterned paper as a background with a sprig of greenery for the woohoo bird to land on. Embellished with gold metallic flakes.

Just a friendship card. This is another old stamp that I love because of the patchwork stitching, it is heat embossed in black.. The teacup is stamped on patterned paper and fussy cut. The EF/die has some stitching too so it all came together nicely.

A monochromatic card with a made background using white wax crayon as resist and Distress Inks over lines scored like bricks. This was fun to do. The diecut is misted with gold interference and the butterfly has gold metallic gilding flakes.

Inspired by a sketch and a colour challenge. The panel is embossed with a border EF (one of the first I ever got way back in 2007/8 it's an old cuttlebug). The leaves are cut from textured card and smudged with gold metallic rub-on wax.

I have some beautiful papers and have been trying to work out ways to use them without covering up their special qualities. I have used this frame die in other ways, but it works perfectly with this special paper. The frame is stacked for dimension. I used a vellum shadow behind the sentiment to soften the frame.
