Sympathy Blues

Monochrome with embossing, stamping, inking, pretty papers, vellum, diecuts, tags flowers and a brad..  I like how it came out with all those elements.  The flowers are stamped, inked.  The black ones are wet and scrunched and left to dry like that.

Add Metal

I have been invited to be in the Designer Spotlight on the  Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.  I really enjoy metallics so this week was such fun.

This week the challenge is Add Metal!  come and show us how you were inspired!  details below.

I like this moody look. The background is Simon Says Stamp "Tucked Heart" stamped with Distress Oxide Ink Speckled Egg on black card, which looks like pewter, then misted with gold Sheer Shimmer spray.
Simon Says Stamp floral is "Sketched Flower" (one of my favourite stamps) heat embossed in silver and coloured with silver metallic watercolour paint.  It looks like a touch of frost.
For the sentiment I used silver foil tape onto black card and diecut with Simon Says Stamp "Boho Celebrate", plus various sized silver pearls.  Details below.

Inspired by Music

I have been invited to be in the Designer Spotlight on the  Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.   Thank you Simon Says Stamp, I always enjoy a challenge.

This week the challenge is Inspired by Music!  come and show us how you were inspired!

I was inspired to insert music instead of text because of this composition, check it out: "The Typewriter" by American composer Leroy Anderson.  https://www.youtube.com/watch
This vintage typewriter stamp & sentiment is Tim Holtz "Curiosity Shop" stamp set.
The background uses dotty & checky stamps from Tim Holtz "Mr Rabbit" set, along with Distress Inks, Distress Oxide Inks, Distress Oxide sprays.  Also a splatter of gold paint splatter, gold dots, various washi tapes and a torn scrap of real music.

Knitted Warm Wishes

House Mouse has a challenge for different card folds, and I have been wanting to try this one using a die.  The images are from a House Mouse CD I have had for a long time, they are so cute.  A pretty paper for the background, I used the cutout piece for the inside.  A stamped sentiment to go with the warm knitted garments, and some dots that are drop-outs from a die.

It was hard to photograph as the light was uneven on each side, so the main one is taken lying flat, and the small one is standing upright.

Isn't that mouse a great little knitter?  I wonder what she is making now ...

Leafy Wishes

A CAS card using stuff on my desk and in my Bitz Box.

I love it when the leaves turn colour and fall. When the grandkids were small we used to find a big fall of leaves and have a frolic with them, kicking, rolling around, piling them up etc.  Sadly they are too big to enjoy that now.

A card base of deep cream, some embossed kraft paper, a strip of wine card, a tiny sentiment and a diecut leaf.  A touch of faux spatter with gold pen.  I made the shiny waterdrop using Glossy Accents onto a silicon mat.  EF Heidi Swapp, sentiment stamp Fundamentals.

How Old Dinosaur

How Old???? maybe a dinosaur?  maybe a bit of fun? maybe a bit snarky?

Lime green panel stamped with dark green ink, grass drawn in with Copic markers.  The only complete dinosaur is stamped again onto patterned paper and fussy-cut, paper-pieced, glued on over the background one.  Spots coloured with Copics. Stamped sentiment and panel matted.

Tulip Wishes

Another tulip card in the selection for Parkinsons Disease fundraising.  Totally a one-layer card directly onto card base, that's as flat as you get.

Flowers & stars stencilled with Distress Inks, water splatttered, sheer shimmer mist.  Home made star stencil using negative of diecut. Gold metallic pen used to make faux splatter, WoS on stars.  Stamped & embossed sentiment.

asyo-favourite-layered-or-flat-why flat cards are easy to mail, nothing gets squished. You make layers instead with colour and shape.

Simply Fantastic Woman

CAS and monochrome and a bit of feminine fun.

The EF is inked with aqua for letterpress embossing, I think it's a map of London.  The AALL & Create woman stamp is coloured with Copics and fussy-cut.  Sentiment stamped and heat embossed turquoise, and an arch diecut to coordinate.  Panel and woman popped up with foam tape.

Spring Lambs

It's the start of SPRING here in New Zealand.

Dawn chose the September theme for our NZ cardswap group - Spring, so I did a double take on it = a spring scene with frolicking lambs with the middle lamb on a paper spring.  Yes, here in NZ there are calves and lambs out in the fields, the cherry blossoms are appearing, and there are daffodils everywhere.  Ahhhh!

The background is smooshed DI's with a pearly mist. Lots of diecuting layers, a bit of stamping, and white penwork.  The grassy layers are great to use up snippets.

Purrthday Wishes

A stamp, a square dotty stencil, a die, and embossing folder, some DI's and DOx Sprays, Copics and a white and black pen.  The dots are Enamel Accents, nose is Glossy Accents, inked edges.  I doodled on the balloon and sentiment, and made my own party hat.  The ?Katzelkraft cat is stamped, balloon & string diecut from some previously inked and splattered card.  The box is stamped & paperpieced from kraft paper.

I love this image, but I have doubts whether the mouse is confident about his future safety ...  is he the birthday present? ha, what a thought.
