Butterfly Spinner

 

A fancy fold inner with spinner!

There are lots of tutorials on youtube on how to make this fold.

I used the same die on the front and inside the card.  The flowers and bow on the front of the card are Sizzix/Tim Holtz diecuts.  Sentiment inside stamped and heat embossed in gold.  The double sided butterfly (Kaisercraft) is stamped and coloured with Copic markers and dotted with Ranger Stickles. Diecut wreath is Memory Box. The thread is dental floss.  Gem added.

Spring is coming

 

The background panel is embossed and sanded to show off the stitching.    The bird stamp is Clear Impressions using dye ink with a wet stamping technique, which is a great way to get a vintage look; diecut and misted with Perfect pearls.   The sentiment is stamped & silver embossed,  silver thread tied in a bow.

Everyday Flower

 

Circle diecut in varying shades of lilac/purple, reassembled on marbled pale aqua card panel.  Wildflower diecut (Tim Holtz/Sizzix Artsy Stems) in white, coloured with DI's.  Greeting stamped, diecut, popped up on foam.  3D KindyGlitz gold dots, gem added.

Lucky

 A card for someone special.

In my whole life 70+ years I have only ever found one four leaf clover.  Here's another.

A background panel with pricked design, a band of dark green embossed with Darice Shamrocks swiped with DI, splattered with gold metallic watercolour paint, banded with crushed gold sparkly tissue narrow border and wide border.  The whole panel diecut into an arch shape.  Diecut crow/blackbird with pewter Craf-T metallic rub-on.  Dots made using 3D KindyGlitz gold to look like starry sky.  Tiny tag stamped, tied with gold cord, popped up on foam tape, added tiny heart from diecut dropout.

Leafy Thinking

 

Panel is embossed and splattered finely with dark green and gold watercolour paint.  The foliage is stamped and diecut, then painted with metallic watercolour paints.  Greeting is stamped and diecut with a dark green shadow, then popped up on foam.  Gold pearls added to highlight the gold splatter.

Froggy Friends

 

A bit of froggy fun.  I love frogs.

 Panel coloured smooshing using DI's as watercolour, diecut clouds.  Greeting stamped & gold heat embossed, poppped up on foam.  Diecut froggies shaded with DI's, bodies popped up on foam, anchored at hands and feet.

HM Cheesecake

 

Well, these little House Mouse mice are always up to something, and it usually has something to do with eating!

I swiped the base card edges with DI's.  Layered with patt paper which has corners stamped with stars.  Coloured the HouseMouse image with Copics, diecut & mat with Squaovals dies.  Punched a hole in the corner and tied with linen thread. I cut up the sentiment and punched some "sprinkles".  Stickles outline the stamped stars and the "sprinkles".  Inside I stamped a sentiment and added a stamped party hat to make it festive.

This is a card for a fisherman; even though fishers are more often male, I really like fishing, as does an 81 yo woman friend of mine.  Fish are stamped onto dotty patterned paper and fussy cut.  Placed on a panel of dotty water, sentiment stamped in two shades of blue.  Bubbles made with Glossy Accents, white gel pen highlights.  Lots of scrappy snippets used for the fish.

Butterfly Wreath

 

It is so nice to be invited to be a guest designer, so I feel really privileged to be here for Pearly Sparkles March challenge which is MIXED FLORALS, check it out here: pearlysparkleschallenge 

Aren't wreaths lovely for any time of year and any occasion?  I sent this to a young friend who recently lost her husband.

This one uses Tim Holtz/Sizzix dies and a gold embossed butterfly (Hot off the Press) stamped onto vellum.  Nuvo Drops and gems added.

Waiting for Spring

 

Lucky for me I was invited to be guest designer at The Crafting Challenge for March.  What a great topic - Come and join us for this Waiting For Spring challenge, here:  thecraftingchallenge

Hyacinths are such an iconic spring flower and what fabulous perfume.  I chose the plaid paper to compliment because the colours are so springy.

This is one of those NBUS picks for me, I have had these stamps/dies for a long time/years, they were a magazine freebie from Practical Publishing and are just perfect for this challenge.  The diecut teacup (came with the stamp set) edges inked with Ranger DI's and stamped with a flower pattern.  Image coloured with Copics and fussy-cut, with the little extra label and heart all from the same stamp/die set.  The EF is Sizzix on a shaped diecut (it's a shame the stitched border doesn't show very well) and the digital plaid paper is from Crafty Cardmakers.    White pen dotty highlights and a red gem for pretty!

Wouldn't you like to have this on your windowsill while waiting for spring??

Sympathy Tree

 Recently I have needed sympathy cards.  I like using birds or butterflies for sympathy cards, it kind of symbolises freedom of the soul.

An embossed tree, some masking and stencilling, ink blending and diecut birds.  Pearls for tears.

Birthday Jackson

 

16 years old already! J loves playing games and is very competitive whether on the computer, playing boardgames or cards.  I refuse to play monopoly with him, but am happy to contest anything else.  He will play anytime, anywhere with anyone who will keep still long enough.  Games are his universe.

For his name, I covered card in wide adhesive packing tape then diecut letters which are lightly stacked.  The silhouette is distressed by sanding and stacked.  A selection of game pieces. sprinkled. The card base is top fold, and inside I made a stepper to hold a gift card as he loves getting interactive cards from me.  So far I have managed to surprise him every time.

Fun Ride

 

Clean and Simple.  It was so tempting to add stuff, but I'm so glad I didn't; it only has a little smudge of blue & green colour behind the image. Tim Holtz stamp sentiment, unknown wheel, Distress inks, Stickles.

Right Here Heart

 

Texture and contrast, stencil & paste, tearing, and inky splatter, topped off with gems.  Lovely fun.  

Galentines, valentines, missing you - whatever your need it to be.

Mulberry paper torn in a rough heart shape, overlaid with diecut heart frame.  The background is a pasted stencil with splatter.  Gems echo the shape and a popped up punched sentiment.
