Spring Card Camp2:  Day 17 was Building Dies, and day 18 was Abstract Backgrounds.

I combined both for this card, die-cutting it opposite to the ink strokes I made on the background, then setting the die on the diagonal to the card.

I printed the image 3 times: green dotty paper, yellow hex paper, white card.  I cut the frame out of yellow (including the middle), then the bird.  Layered them onto the trimmed printed white card without the centre cut out.  Added twine & button, then layered the whole lot onto dark orange textured card.  Added the sentiment which has been diecut with wide DS tape on the back and applied directly.  That means I don't get the letters all wonky!

SCC2 day 14 Watercolour

SCC2 day 14 Watercolour Inspired by Children

Watercolour inspired by Children was a great exercise, fun and a bit messy.  I used Lyra Watercolor Crayons to make my designs.  I have had these for nearly twenty years and love the textured effect they give either dry or watered.

My faves are the dots and the geometrics. I used Rosie's Studio stamps on one and matted it - it is my #1 pick of the four.

I used this to send as a sympathy card to a friend who lost her father.

SpringCardCamp2, day 6 Creative Color Blocking

I chose three shades of green and had difficulty finding a suitable background stamp.  Finally I settled on this map of the world which had New Zealand on it.
Once it was finished it also reminded me of tall office buildings.

SCC4 Repeat Congrats

SCC2 day 4 Repeat Sentiments

I need some graduation cards, so decided this was a perfect way to try out the repeat sentiment.  I used the TH stamping platform to stamp the sentiments on the card strips.  What a great way to use up those leftover snippets.


I liked the odd gap and random word placement as it seemed more dynamic than just having rows of sentiments.  The trencher/mortarboard is raised on 3d foam tape.

SCC10 Celebrate Star

SCC2 Day 10  Letter Substitution

Day 10 is letter substitution and I wanted a card that would do for any occasion and was a bit elegant and simple.  I used a painterly patterned paper from my stash for the background.
The sentiment panel is cut and the edges bevelled using a scoring board.

SCC12 Geometric Birthday

Spring Card Camp day 12: Geometric

This session was using geometric dies to make a repeating pattern.
I was very pleased to find this patterned paper in my stash in grey and silver, which went perfectly with the shades of lavender AND was geometric itself!  I had to hand cut a couple of extra layers to make the shapes work, and swapped out some layers for white to give it some brightness.

I thought this would be quite good for a masculine card.
