Strawberry Sweetness

 

I was inspired by a sketch for this card, also made it CAS.  I used a stamp/die set that was a magazine freebee from Practical Publications a long time ago.  I haven't used it for ages and decided it needed some mileage.

I diecut the image three times, once in dark green for the stems & leaves, once in red for the strawberries, once in white for the flowers, then assembled it.    I stamped & fussy cut the bee, painted it's wings with WoS.

This is monochrome and CAS.  I don't usually work in this colour range, but the subject dictated (and I do love a latte).  Envelope to match.  Maybe for a man?

That's how I would like to learn to do housework - in a pretty dress with high heels and sitting down with my feet up!  ... not going to happen any time soon.

This is the whole collection of Scrap Bust cards, minus the first one I had made for a card swap and had mailed - which incidentally started the whole thing off!  

This is the box of 50 scraps I started with, plus scraps of black & white.  What a sense of satisfaction when I was able to toss what was leftover at the end.

Seagull Fold

 

This is a seagull fold chosen by Dawn for our NZ cardswap.  Wow, looks complicated but not.  Lots of photos for this one.  Feathers cut from vellum, the papers have soft sparkle.  I kept the diecuts within the colour palette of the striped paper and used up  various snippets.  Lots of tutorials if you google seagull fold, also an upright version called Finch fold.  Edit: before posting, I added another vellum feather at the bottom right of the front panel - but forgot to photograph it (sigh).

Hamster Birthday

Star & Snowflake

 

One red, one blue, both CAS style cards, using a new-to-me die.  I never make two cards exactly the same.  I left them plain thinking I can put any sentiment on as needed.

Red Star card: I used a linen textured card under the diecut area and a gem for the centre.

Scrap Bust #11 - White collage

 

Scrap Bust - see previous post Scrap Bust #1 for details of the challenge.  

This is the last post in this 50 scraps, 5 cards in 5 days Scrap Bust series.

At this stage the scraps are getting sparse and very small, however I used a collection of scrappy white strips, embossed them with different folders for the background.  Diecut a frame from one of the last big bits left (stacking it with other scraps), adding a stamped flower from my bitz box.  After this card I dumped what was left of the 50 scraps as I had far exceeded what the challenge was.  The flower was  done using watercolour stamping technique touched up with Copics.

Scrap Bust #10 - Hexi Lineup

 

Scrap Bust challenge description see details in previous post Scrap Buster #1.  (50 scraps in 5 days)

By now the box of 50 scraps is nearly empty/used up.  The woodgrain background is out of the bitz box,  previously made with an EF on grey card and swiped over with white chalk ink.  Five punched hexagons lined up.  

I  put some trees in and hey presto,  a little forest with mountains!  The brown trees are actually bronze metallic card but it doesn't show in the photo.  We don't get snow here in winter.

Scrap Bust #9 - Scrap Tossed

 

For details of Scrap Bust challenge see Scrap Bust #1 in previous post.

This background is made up of organised-by-colour strips arranged in a random chevron pattern onto black card so it shows between.  My latest fave stamped lady only wearing lippy, matted in black and raised with 3D foam tape, and my other fave stamp of patterned humps.  They just go together so well.  A couple of the papers are overstamped to make it more interesting.

Scrap Bust #8 - Scribble Thanks

 

Check out Scrap Bust #1 for details of the challenge.

Softer colours for this one.  I cut two panels in a wavy line, stamped one with a new scribble stamp, glued onto waste paper with a thinner strip, then stitched around.   The sentiment is diecut with a vellum shadow.

Scrap Bust #7 - Weave

 

Details of the scrap bust in previous post Scrap Bust 1.

This is using thin strips woven together onto waste paper.  Using more neutrals (I'd used up most of the brights) and as I was doing it I thought nest... bird  ...  The cage and sentiment (both from my Bitz box) is stamped and gold embossed, the bird diecut.

Scrap Bust #6 - Banners Feel Well

Another Scrap Bust, see Scrap Bust #1 for details of challenge.

For this one I layered scraps onto scrap paper, then embossed - another scrapbooking style. I used a diecut frame for the stamped sentiment over a panel that was softly sponged with DI's in the background colours.  I banner cut smaller scraps and stitched them onto a waste strip, added diecuts from my Bitz box too.

Scrap Bust 5 - Dragon Birthday

See previous post Scrap Bust #1 for details of the challenge.  As you can probably tell, I got addicted and had so much fun with my papers.

I arranged strips in half rainbow order, adding items from the bitz box on my desk ( I need to use them up too).  As well as the background strips, I made paper beads, dipping them in Versamark ink and UT embossing powder and heating.

Scrap Bust 4 - Scrappy Squares

 See Scrap Bust 1 for background details of the Scrap Bust challenge.

For this one I used punched squares and zany stamps.  As the scrap pile gets smaller squares were a good option, and made a very bright background - I arranged them in colour rows & blends to get a cohesive look.  For the border, I stamped onto patterned paper.

I just gave this to a friend for her birthday, she actually squealed!
