Gingham Floral

This started with a sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches, and inspiration from the colours of gingham.

I used torn gingham washi tape for four bands and a stamped sentiment for the fifth band.  I punched the flowers from scraps/snippets of  card previously inked and stamped with distress inks.

Vintage Arty Woman

This is the first time I have used this 1920's woman stamp, which I got in a sale last year.

The centre of the card is firstly coloured with Distress Inks, spritzed, dried and then stamped her over. A background stamp partially inked in rose and cyan with postal images, then misted with black.  Gold paste swiped over and then stamped directly with a partially inked scripty background stamp in grey.
Her eyes, lips necklace and shoulders of dress are softly colured with Copics, highlighted with white pen and Glossy Accents.
Also gauze, a scrap of inked paper die-cut to a butterfly layered and a stamped sentiment added. Diecut corners and a gem to finish.

Phone sleeves

Today I've been sewing mobile phone sleeves.  My phone was a week old when something cracked the screen protector which was glass.  I'm pretty careful to put it in my handbag with its face to the side but obviously that's not enough.

I made this bright one for me from scraps left over from quilting.  Ian's is a bit more funky masculine.

The ideas for both came from the internet (I googled glasses cases) and I just made them to suit our phones.    They are padded with batting and lined in contrasting fabric.

I love this funky elephant stamp, and if I was an elephant I wouldn't want to be grey!

I coloured the background using cheap iridescent watercolours from the dollar shop in shades of blue.I love how the texture of the card shows (it is ordinary card not watercolour) and I was surprised to see the iridescence show up well in the photos (click on pic for closeup).
I stamped the sentiment and elephant on the card, then onto a piece of patterned paper and cut it out (paper piecing). You look gorgeous Ellie!

My Backyard

This was inspired by my backyard - the trees, the greenness and two of my chickens, Ruby & Hetty.  The paperclip is just to hold it in place for the photo, so that I can still send it flat in the mail to a cardswap buddy.

Happy Hoppy

How much cuter can it get?  This froggy is certainly a character.


The image is stamped, embossed and painted, then some sprinkles of gold EP; the sentiment is gold embossed.  The splot is Distress Inks, gold line is rub-on foiling.

I love her pink dotted paperpieced body.

The image is masked and background sponged with Distress inks, the legs and beak coloured with Copics.  Everything else is paperpieced; I specially love her pink dotted paperpieced body. A little shadow detail add to the papers, a lacy border, a sentiment stamped three times and embossed.  I slit the top of the bag and put something lacy in, and a gem.

BendiDeer

My first try at a bendiframe card - The instructions are on Splitcoaststampers tutorials.

This is assembled, but if I do it again, I wouldn't fully assemble so it would be easier to mail.

Background is sponged with Distress Inks, then layered with diecuts.  Most of the elements are snippets left over from other projects.
