A CAS one layer card! And a toast to the new grad: new beginnings!
I stamped directly onto the card, then masked the image and sponged distress ink around the silhouette. Because the sentiment is a clear stamp I bent it to where the hat would be if it was lifted off.

A gorgeous card Carol - clear stamps are wonderful with their flexibility, and you have made the most of it with you sentiment.

You've done a great job of colouring the black gown and cap, Carol! I love the curved sentiment too which looks fab. Thanks so much for playing along with us at Less is More :)
graduations certainly are the perfect subject for new beginnings! This is a wonderful take on the challenge word. I love this image,a dn you've colored it beautifully. I love the curved sentiment as well. Thanks for taking Time Out to play our "inspired By Words" challenge!
Love this idea for new beginnings! Terrific card, thanks for sharing!
So cute & very clever to bend the sentiment that way!
I agree with Esther, black isn't easy to colour but you've captured some great light and shade here. Love the blended background too.

So clever how you've done the sentiment in the direction the hat comes off - what a great idea!
Wow! The sponging around the masked image was superb because your little graduate really looks as if they have been popped up on foam pads! Brilliant work!! Your colouring and blending are fantastic too. Thanks so much for sharing this with us at Less is More xx

Thanks so much for playing with us at Time Out!
That little graduate is so sweet and I love how he pops from the way you highlighted him. Thanks for playing along with CASology this week!
What a great one-layer card, Carol! I love your masking and the great shading behind him. Also love the shape of the sentiment...definitely the path of his cap if it were to be thrown! Thanks for joining us at CASology!
