Patchwork Birthday

At the Crafters Café we have choices.  The theme is SCI-FI or PATCHWORK.  Take your pick!  See what the design team have made, and join us here: crafterscafeblogchallenge

Thanks to My Besties for the image provided, you can get it here:

Eyes coloured with Copics
Sentiment stamp: Ranger/Dina Wakely
PPaper from stash, a sprinkle of gems, black pen.

I chose to colour only the eyes of the image, I thought the image would disappear into the background if I coloured it  (sometimes I like to leave them uncoloured anyway).  The patched background is made using a stack'n'slash quilting technique.  The stamped sentiment is smudged with pale green in patches.  Stitching is added with a pen once it is all stuck down.  A sprinkle of gems falling into her hand.
It's very interesting; when I was making it, the top left square stood out, but in the photograph the centre square stands out more.

I just love the complete contrast of theme selections at your challenge! Fantastic! Super patchwork background, and so striking to have an uncoloured image against it. A really wonderful card! Thanks so much for sharing it with us at Penny's!

I'm not surprised you took the patchwork option - I think I would too!
Love how this has turned out Carol, and just colouring the eyes was a fabulous idea

The uncoloured image stands out well against the patchwork background and love all the faux stitching and the green eyes.
