Scrap Bust #1. On you tube there is a tutorial on how to use scraps in many wonderful ways by Gwen (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I33G5PQnFh4) . She did a "choose 50 scraps and use them to make five cards over five days" challenge for herself; at the end of five days she throws the leftovers away. A scrap is defined as less than 6".
This inspired me as my scrap bin is overflowing, so I started, got addicted, and made 11 cards over five days (I will share them as the week progresses). They are the same 50 scraps (plus base cards, black & white scraps, and any bitz from the box on my desk). Also our NZ card swap this month is to use scraps! How auspicious is that? Hope you like it Maxine.
A scrapbook style. The background is patchwork pieced scraps, diecut, edges inked; a frame layered, sentiment stamped, diecut, edges inked. A butterfly stamped, embossed, coloured, fussycut. A tag, stars and trees diecut, with gold pearls, thread embellishment. Wow what fun! Here are the 50 scraps I started the week with:
Label die: SpellbindersFrame dies: mpress
Butterfly: magazine freebee
Stars: AAllcreate
Tag die: AveryE
Tree dies: unknown
Sentiment stamp:unknown
Also: Copics, DI's, thread, gold pearls

What a delightful way to creatively reduce your scrap stash! Your commitment to using the same 50 scraps over five days is inspiring, and the patchwork-pieced background sounds like a labor of love. The butterfly and layered elements must add so much dimension and charm. Combining die-cuts, gold pearls, and thread embellishments makes it sound like each card is a mini masterpiece!
And tying it in with the NZ card swap and multiple challenges is such a smart move. Your participation must have sparked joy for other creators as well. Congratulations on completing 11 cards—what an achievement! Keep crafting and sharing your lovely creations. 😊
