Kiwi Christmas Pocket

I made this for a December cardswap on CraftyNZCardmakers (http://www.craftynzcardmakers.yooco.org/.
It had to be a pocket card and include a favourite recipe.
How do you like the paper with santa kiwis?  I chose the colour scheme from the striped paper. The recipe is printed on the computer.

I  printed the digital image once on card, once on printer paper.  I cut out the image from paper and used it as a mask to colour the background with Distress Inks (green and blue).  I spritzed with water to make blotches, then misted with silver.
The frame is diecut and stencilled with silver ink.
Glittery shimmer is added with WoS, ribbon.

Owlish Thanks

A steampunk owl to say thank you.
and a matching envelope (see previous envelope challenge Nov 15).  The branch and leaves are from leftovers/snippets; I often just diecut leaves and put them in a bag for future use so I don't have tiny bits hanging around.

You are wonderful

I thought this card would work for get well or just someone going through a rough patch.

I made the background by first wetting the card, putting colour onto a large acrylic stamp block, then pressing the paper into it. Stenciled the ferns over.    I put a strip of d/s tape along the bottom and rubbed glitter over for some sparkle.  I think it looks very tropical.

Circus

This year we decided to give the six smaller grandkids (ages 8-11) an experience rather than more 'stuff' (although they are getting a little something to open which includes chocolates and a little game), so we took them all to the circus - just like herding cats!
So, for Christmas day, to go with their 'opening' presents I made them all cards with photos from the circus.  Inside are photos of the circus acts, a photo of them with poppa at the entrance, and made a little poem.  On the outside I decorated the front to match their present wrapping.  On the boxes of goodies, I diecut labels and put their monogram on.

I hope they like it.

Red Meri Kirihimete

Mere Kirihimete is Merry Christmas in Maori.  I used traditional maori colours of red white & black, and used some of the drop-out pieces to embellish the corners as they reminded me of maori koru motifs (emerging fern fronds).


The diecut tree is set on metallic silver.

Red Bauble triangle box

Another triangle chocolate gift box.  I was given a 12x12 paper with a large design and used it for the triangle box.  It came with a coordinating strip with baubles and sentiments which I also used.

Gold Bauble Chocolates

I have been making these little triangle boxes with chocolates inside for little card-gifts.

I was given the paper which has a large pattern so I got two from it and then some left over.  The baubles and sentiments are from a coordinating strip.

Christmas NZ style

Meri Kirihimete is Merry Christmas in Maori, and the flower is pohutukawa.  The huge pohutukawa is known as the NZ Christmas tree as it flowers from about mid December to mid-January and is very pretty with it's bold red flowers with gold tipped stamens and blue-green foliage.

Christmas gift triangle box

Is it a card? Is it a box?   Sort of both!

Each year I  make these little gifts to give that contain chocolates.  They take as much time as a card to make, but really combine card and little gift.

I do them with various messages, and in lots of colourways, just to be interesting for me and make them for any reason (thank you, you're a star etc), and for any time of year.

Candycane

Candy cane is very sweet, too sweet for me, but I roughly crush it and bake it into biscuits/cookies - and they look so pretty and taste so minty.
