 iSpy #32  joining in with Lysha's photography challenge.

Prompts this week were:

Watch, selfie (quarterly), intersection, hidden, own choice.

WATCH:  This is a thrush who lives in our garden.   This is taken from inside the house.  She watches us watching her watching us ...

SELFIE (quarterly)  Wet and cold, remember it's winter here in NZ.

INTERSECTION:  Morning sun; I liked the shapes and shadows intersecting in the window frames.

HIDDEN:  Can you spot the two eastern rosella parrots sitting in our apple tree?  I couldn't get any closer before they flew away.

OWN CHOICE:  This was taken on a day when the sun struggled to come through the cloud (neighbour's house); at last we are on our way to spring and summer!

OK Bunny, here is an internet photo of an eastern rosella parrot.  I can never get close enough for a decent photo.

Happy Stripes

 I've made this kind of card before out of scrappy strips and always feel happy making them.  This one is colourful and bold.  The strips are glued to red card so it shows between the strips for extra boldness and to show up the other colours.

Lysha's iSpy photo challenge 

I'm a bit late this week but here goes: prompts were Bliss, 2 of a kind, Starts with B, Beginnings, your choice.  It's been cold and wet this week, and we are told to expect more in the coming week.  So mostly indoor photos.

Bliss:  Nothing more blissful on a cold rainy day than a bit of me-time with fruit tea and a book, unless it is breakfast in bed, and you're not going to get a photo of that!

Two of  kind:  Strawberries, oh so yum.

Starts with B:  our garden is just starting to bud up for spring, but really the only colour at the moment is from these Berries left from the summer flowering in January and February.

Beginnings:  This is kind of a beginning and an ending.  We are preparing to move house and have started sorting to downsize and packing things we don't need immediately.  It is the beginning of a new era for us, moving from a hectare of countryside surrounded by trees, to a retirement village surrounded by houses and people.  Eeek!

Own choice: A wet winters day and nothing better than homemade.  Bread and soup for lunch - Ian makes the bread and I make the soup!

I stamped the foxy image, then roughly masked the tip of the tail eyes and flowers, dipped it in watered Distress Inks (repeatedly until I got it how I wanted), dried it and splattered with Perfect Pearls.  The flowers are coloured with Copics.  The embossed card is torn at the top and swiped with black soot D.Ink.  I glued glitter on some of the background dots.

 Hello again!  It's time for Lysha's photographic challenge #30.

Prompts were:  pieces, tied, scented, grid, your choice.

Pieces:  I thought the pieces of glass that make up our front door panel was appropriate for this one.

Tied:  Here are some herbs and flowers I have tied up in the garage to dry: gypsophila, lavender and bay.

Scented:  I know it's obvious, but my Compassion rose really is one of the most scented varieties.  On a warm day the scent is heavenly, and it flowers like crazy.  It is about 8 feet high and we cut it down to that height so we can pick the flowers; who knows how high it would grow unchecked?  It flowers  nearly all year round.

Grid:  this is the gridded glass mat that I work on when making my cards and papercrafty things.

Own choice:  Remember, it's winter here.  One morning it was so cold my bird bath froze over.  The birds could not understand what was happening, but fortunately it thawed once the sun got on it and they were happy again.
