iSpy #29

iSpy #29    Gosh don't these weeks just fly by?  Here is Lysha's iSpy challenge again.

Prompts are: Backyard quarterly, Road sign, Strip, Lazy day, own choice.

Backyard quarterly:  We are well into winter now; today we had thunder and lightning, rain and hail!  July has been a month of frosts and beautiful clear sunny days, and then rain, wind & storms.  I really like the reflections in this one.

Road Sign:  This handmade sign is propped against a fence at the start of our road right beside the giveway sign.
I wasn't sure if this counted as a road sign, so I've done an official road sign as well.  I thought it particularly polite.

Strip:  This is a quilt I'm working on at the moment ( you can see some bits are still pinned) with the bunnies made of random strips of fabric.

Lazy Day:  Over the winter I tend to hibernate, great now that I'm retired!  So on wet, gloomy days, I make a cuppa, turn up the heating, settle in with feet up and read books ... or knit.

Your choice:  The last rag-tag leaves still clinging on.

Yup, that's it for me for this week.

HM Marshmallow Party

This is a large and complex image so I kept it simple.  It is coloured with Copics and coloured pencils.

This image is so nice because it is winter here and this feels warm and toasty.

Image (new): Housemouse/Stampendous

EF (sanded): Craft Concepts

Border punch: Fiskars

Sentiment stamp: unbranded

Also: Copics/coloured pencils,  twine, white pen, 3D Kindyglitz

Awesome Birthday

We don't want to set the house on fire, do we?  Here's a fun birthday with lots of candles (not counting!).   I made the background with a gelli plate and Distress Inks, using a bit of  toning left over for the bunting.

Embossed image & sentiment: Art Impressions

Happy Doggy Wishes

Our grandkids all like to get interactive cards, and I think a lot of men do too...  so, a shaker card.

I stamped "happy" onto textured card as I didn't want it to look too dominant, and it came out looking nicely patterned.  The edges of the papers are distressed.

Image stamp:  Penny Black

Circle Dies: Sizzix

"Happy" stamp/die: Rosie's Studio

"wishes" stamp:

Also: sequins

Get Mugged

I used a basic drawing of a mug from the internet (hinged on the left, the handle is part of the back of the card), did a Scan'n'Cut and snipped off the bottom so it would stand up.  It is sponged with D.Inks,  stamped with a little flower border, then some clear WinkofStella on the flowers and gold WoS to trim.  The little teabag stamp is a freebie - I coloured the heart with Copic and added Glossy Accents.  For some weird reason the gold looks green in the photo.

Sentiment stamp: freebie

Teabag tag stamp: freebie

Flower stamp: unknown

Also: D.Inks, Copic, Glossy Accents, gold WoS, clear sparkleWoS

HM #345 Iceblock Party

People call these by different names popsicle, ice lolly, icypoles (Australia), but we just call them iceblocks here in NZ.

For a change I used coloured pencils to get a little texture.  The sentiment is heat embossed silver.  The image panel is popped up for dimension and to accommodate the gathered tulle.

BookBind girl

A great choice at Incy Wincy Design challenge this time: Red,White,&Blue and/or Sparkle/Glitter!

Thanks to sponsor ALEX SYBERIA for this cute image, get it here:  cute-doll

I intend this for a cardswap with the Bookbind Fold theme and added in some extra patterned papers as a surprise for my cardswap buddy.  I managed red, white & blue plus a little bit of sparkle.

Lazy Days

What a  great image and it really wanted a loose arty treatment.  I used Colour Fusions on the cat, Copics on the drink.  The background is made with Distress inks, but I tore the top off to make it more interesting and give some texture.

iSpy #28

 iSpy #28  of Lyshas challenge

Prompts this week were Torn, Newsprint, Connected, Curved, Your choice.

Torn:  I am a self confessed fabricaholic.  Here is some of my stash with the torn edges showing.  I used to make all the kids and my clothes when I was young, but now I mostly make quilts and stuff like that.

Newsprint:  Here is a card I made using newsprint for the bollard and the greeting.  I swiped it with white acrylic paint randomly before stamping over.

Connected:  This is a succulent - all the beads connected to the next one in a long string.

Curved:  Her are the two remaining butternut squash from our summer crop.  Even the leaves are curvy.

Own Choice:  Our young pear tree had  a fair bit of fruit on this year, but guess what?  This is what greets us before they are even ripe.  I don't mind sharing a bit of the crop with the birds, but all of it????

Sunflower Pot

Sunflowers are just like sunshine itself, and always brighten any day.

The pot/bucket is paperpieced, and the butterfly is die cut from a scrap of my own made card (made with Distress Inks and mists).  And a great way to use up bits and snippets.
