Friendship Tea

Just a friendship card.   This is another old stamp that I love because of the patchwork stitching, it is heat embossed in black..  The teacup is stamped on patterned paper and fussy cut.  The EF/die has some stitching too so it all came together nicely.

Woodgrain Hello

A monochromatic card with a made background using white wax crayon as resist and Distress Inks over lines scored like bricks.   This was fun to do. The diecut is misted with gold interference and the butterfly has gold metallic gilding flakes.

Stacked die Senti: Wplus9

Leaf Fragments

I think these leaf fragments are perfect for a sympathy card, especially for an older person.  It seems I need sympathy cards a lot lately.

Inspired by a sketch and a colour challenge.  The panel is embossed with a border EF (one of the first I ever got way back in 2007/8 it's an old cuttlebug). The leaves are cut from textured card and smudged with gold metallic rub-on wax.

Sympathy Framed

I have some beautiful papers and have been trying to work out ways to use them without covering up their special qualities.  I have used this frame die in other ways, but it works perfectly with this special paper.  The frame is stacked for dimension.  I used a vellum shadow behind the sentiment to soften the frame.

Leafy Thinking

Inspired by colour (color throwdown challenge). CAS design. I like these colours - part of nature's palette.  I am trying to use stuff in my stash, and re-discovered the metallic rub-on wax, such a lovely way to get a subtle touch of gold, and the slightly textured card of the diecut leaves shows it up well.

Panda Dance

A happy little dance on a CAS card.

Another NZ cardswap, instructions: use up those leftover white strips, add a pop of colour.  I stacked some white strips and paper-pieced a balloon for my splash of colour.  I added stickles to the stamped rain.

New home &/or new dog

Seems like someone is always moving or getting a new dog!  This is for one of those occasions.  I stamped the houses on patterned paper and fussy cut them, the dog on textured card.  I made the background using stamping, ink and stencilling.   A bit of ink blending on the clouds and ground.

Sunflower Gnome

This giant stamp is great to colour and nice to keep simple.  I stamped twice so I could cut out the flowers and 3D foam them.  I like that little bird nestling in the fold of the hat; bird covered with Opal Dust for twinkle.  Coloured with Copics.

Stamp: Woodware

Tag die: NCraft

Sentiment: magazine freebie

Don't Rush Me

Yes, still trying to use up stuff on my desk and  in my bitz box.

A cardmaking buddy sent me some printed digital images already fussy cut on her Scan'n'cut.  As we are both crafters and sewers, and I have friends who do both, I got inspired to use this image which has both creative  papercrafting and stitching.

The striped card was sent to me already punched with a prize kit, and the pink card is a snippet corner off something I had used the lacy edge off the other end.  SO YES, I am gradually using my stash.  The design is inspired by a recent Cheerful Sketch (see below).

Flower for You

Inspired by a colour challenge and wanting to use some new dies.   I also tried not to use stamps or inkiness. Cut all the shapes and assembled. The centre is bronze metallic card.  Leaves & flowers cut from snippets, edges of leaves inked.  I found it really hard not to use other stuff.

Woodwork Birthday

I made this for a woodworker friend.  I used the check because it looks a bit like a flannel work shirt.  I letter pressed the EF with Vintage photo DI and recycled bits of a manilla folder for the plank and tools.  Inside I used leftover strips of the plaid PP and stamped a cupcake (he likes cakes) coloured with Copics and senti.

Not for Chickens

This sentiment is certainly true.  I used snippets of previously DI coloured card to diecut the chicks, and  grounded them with DI grass to stand on.  I have had chickens and they can be very determined and fierce if they want to be.
