Butterfly Sunshine

Butterflies are such magical creatures and it always brings a smile to see one.

The stamped butterfly was given to me already stamped & diecut by a friend, so I coloured with copics and glittered it.

The diecut sentiment is sponged with distress inks and then clear heat embossed for a few layers to make it thick & shiny.

It's War!

Friends of ours have a kiwifruit orchard.  Unfortunately they also have magpies who attack them when they are out doing their work, so Graeme gets up early to shoot them.  Recently he was in his undies and dressing gown out there trying to catch these magpies, when he slipped on their steepish driveway and faceplanted.  The serious part is he required 7 stitches in his chin, skinned his nose, badly damaged fingers on both hands, hurt his foot and his dignity.  The funny part is he was more embarrassed about being caught out in his undies than the bodily damage!

I just had to make this card for him to cheer him up.

It's a one-layer card, coloured with Copics and Distress Inks.

Dressmaker Tag

I have been trying use up stuff in my 'bits box'.

I found this cardboard tag I don't even remember cutting and the other bits are mostly from my "bits box".  I started by applying gesso, misted colours, gold, the black stencilled texture paste.  The tag is backed with black card that is embossed and rubbed with gold.  The frame is one that didn't cut properly, and the rest of the stamped 'wish' was blurred, so they really are bits of snippets.

Geraniums

This image is some of  Ike's artwork.  I enlarged it as I wanted it to be off-the-page.

The start with,  on an acrylic block I worked out the general areas I wanted inked and smooshed with distress inks then dried it, splashed watered down Perfect Pearls around a bit, and dried it again.  Then I printed the image.   I painted in areas of flowers/leaves, sponged on areas of stonework, adding shading with a brush. I then used a stencil to sponge in some stone path texture.  The iridescent pearly bits don't show in the photo at all.  Edges are distressed.  Sentiment added and some pearly sequins for sparkle.   Thanks Ike for the great image.

I really like the result.

I had already diecut the bubbles and used them as a stencil for another card using Distress Inks.  I stamped the splot in matching ink, using it to edge the panel as well.  Stamped a sentiment and used 3D foam tape to set it up.

Pop out explosion

I made this for a NZ cardswap buddy.  The instructions are from Splitcoaststampers  in the tutorial section and is called a pop out explosion card.

I made the most of these gorgeous papers by cutting out individual flowers and leaves and placing them on the inside sections of the pop out.  And what is a garden without butterflies?  It was supposed to have a bellyband too, but I decided it looked nicer without.
