I made the background by smooshing several Distress Inks and printing the paper into it.  When dry, finely splattering D.Inks over, then printing the digital image.  Edges inked.

I had a bit of a play with this one until I got something I liked.  The background is a die (of clouds-doesn't show very well in photo) that I used like an embossing folder, then sponged with D.inks and splattered.  The car is coloured with pencils, cut out and applied to the background.  The white line is stencilled.

Unicorn Magic

I coloured and diecut the image, then used the same nesting die to make a frame from purple textured card.  I used some mottled lilac paper with edges inked for the background, laying stripes of paper lace before placing the circular frame over.  Then the pearls just sprang onto the lacy stripes.

I have this new stencil and, of course, just had to use it.  I coloured Scotti and stencilled the background before placing her behind a die-cut hole in patterned paper (not tartan, but suggestive).  She has a sparkly bow, and a huggy sentiment.  The stencilling uses Distress Inks ( you can see the stencil at the bottom of the card).  I like the pink and black together.

NEW Directions:  I made this for one of our granddaughters who has left university and is looking for work.  Because of  the effects of Covid, I made this so she might stay focussed on her dreams while taking work where she can get it in the meantime.  I thought the butterfly motif very appropriate for the changes she will need to make.

I made a scrappy strips background, complete with strips of gold (for the dream).  I coloured the image and smooshed and stamped over the ground.  The wings are sparkly with WoS.  * I now collect all my snippets/strippy scraps so I will have them ready to go.

Feature Fffflower

ANYTHING GOES at the Crafters Cafe this fortnight.  Check out the inspirations from the DT and enter yourself, here: crafterscafechallenge
















This one uses the bleaching and colouring technique.  I forget where I learned this, probably youtube.  It's also great for using up those snippets and tiny bits of leftover card.

First stamp and heat emboss onto coloured card.  I used clear EP.  Then use diluted bleach on a paintbrush to take some of the colour out (kind of reverse colouring).  Then, when dry, I used pencils to shade where I wanted more colour, and because I used textured card, I got a lovely effect with the pencils.  Cut out and add to background.  The background uses the same stamp.
