Looking into our house from the patio.  We are leaving the christmas lights up for the summer, they look so pretty when we sit out in the evenings.

Suzy Garland Quilt sewalong week 4

 The Garland sew-a-long - the quilt quadrant sewn together, just a few strips left to put on, then sew it together.

The top is now stitched together and trimmed!  YAY, I did it!  Yay, I love it!

Garland quiltalong week 1

 I am participating in a 4 week on-line sewalong with Suzy Quilts (https://suzyquilts.com/category/garland-sew-along).  I am trying to use up stash and this quilt will be good for that.  Requirements are five colours of yardage (at least 50% of solid colours), and 12 fat quarters.

Week one is to pick out the fabrics.  This is what I chose.  I had to buy yardage (on the left) to go with the stash (right).

I may make some slight changes as I go, but this is a good start.  I always have difficulty choosing fabrics.  that's week one off the list!

Topiary Bunny Thanks

 

A topiary bunny!  This is the first time I have used this new EF, and is the first crafty thing I have bought for ages.  I am a keen gardener and wanted to thank one of the gardeners in the village for their kind helpfulness, and thought this was so appropriate.  

I found the bunny pic in a mindfulness colouring book I was given, I coloured with Copics and fussy cut it.  I embossed card and sponged with D.Inks to emphasise the design, putting more on the outer edges.  I put Kindyglitz on the stacked sentiment and Stickles on some leaves of the topiary.

mySpy week 1

 Week beginning 2 January 2023: week 1

This week has been hot hot hot.  This giant bird bath (water feature) is too high to climb into for a swim.  Look at the lovely designs the wind makes on the bottom of the  cascade.

Lots of pretty christmas lights around the village has made it feel really festive.

Here is a sign behind the reception desk at the dental studio which I thought was lovely:

Finally my red echinacea bloomed, and it was white!  Ha! I must've mixed up the labels.  I have on order a white one (hard to get) because I thought it had died.  Obviously it was the red one that had died; now I need to track down a red one!

A little celebration for the NEW year - CHEERS!  The mat and stars are cut from pearly iridescent card.  The background purple looks light because of how the light shines on it but is really quite a deep purple.
