27 June

Prompts for this past week were hardware, stairs, stick, purple, own choice.

The weather this week has been appalling - rain, rain, and more rain.  Usually in June we have frosts, sunny days, clear and cold, but it has been wet and warmish ... and very dreary with only the odd spot of sunshine.

HARDWARE:  I sneaked a look into Ian's workshop for this one.   I don't know what he was working on, but there was some sort of plan on the bench.

STAIRS:  Now this time I am going into the archives.  Because we can't travel overseas because of Covid, I thought you might like a trip to Toulouse, France.  I have been doing a bit of travelling via my photos; it is so nice to revisit and enjoy them all over again.  I came across these amazing stairs that were in the hotel we stayed at.  What a lovely pattern it makes.

STICK:  Here is a stick man our granddaughter Rhiannon made from leaves, straw, and things she found.

PURPLE:  I don't have a lot of purple in my life, all I could find is this clematis growing along our rail fence.  The other flowers bloomed ages ago - you can see the seedheads.

Own Choice:  Still some leaves to fall.  Later this week we are supposed to have a polar blast, so I guess the last leaves are likely to abandon ship.   I like the contrast between the deciduous tree and the background evergreens.   Autumn has been very pretty this year.

The prompts this week were:  Advertising,  Delicious,  Animal,  Starts with 'V',  own choice.

ADVERTISING:  I sat down at our breakfast bar the other day with coffee and spied this stack of stuff on the end of the bench waiting to be sorted, including our local free paper.  I laughed out loud at how the exposed  bit of advertising read with the stuff on top of it!  I hope you do too.

DELICIOUS:  I had this dessert called Ambrosia while out with a friend ... delicious.  A toffee basket filled with yoghurt, cream, marshmallows, meringue and raspberries.  Are you drooling yet?

ANIMAL:  I took this while I was on a walk down our road yesterday.  One of our neighbours sheep; doesn't she look elegant?  She was staring off into space and just gracefully turned her head when I stepped up to the fence.  I think she looks like those old-fashioned drawings of sheep.

STARTS WITH 'V':  this is some of my VINTAGE linen.  We are clearing out for downsizing and I am finding it difficult to part with beautiful stuff like this.   It is all crinkly because you never store fine linens with starch in.

PHOTOGRAPHERS CHOICE:  As you know by now we are in the middle of winter.  We had a hail storm come through and it made a great pic with the way it made a halo just above the surface when I got down low, and also the reflections.  A very winter scene, but this is really as bad as it gets here.  We live in a temperate zone.

Another week - we are now halfway through the year!

Thanks Lysha for the challenge.  See what Lysha and others are doing, here:  ispy-2021

Bunny Friend

For this one I had used a stencil on another project and it still had ink on it, so I used the wet stencil as a stamp to make the background for this one, waste not...
As a child I remember going out on a summer night to watch bunnies munching away at grass in the moonlight.

Thanks to sponsor Dr Digi for providing the image.  Get it here:  Sharesies (doctor-digi.com)

This is a bit like a horror movie.    I thought of all the times this has happened to me when I sat down for a quiet bite to eat and hello! surprise!  everyone comes to the party.

As you can see I used an everyday Dr Digi's image and added to it with the insects.

Bunny Hugs

I was so pleased to be asked to be a guest designer at
Do-all Creatives
The theme is Anything Goes Small and Tall
and I chose this trio of bunnies

I thought it would be great for a mother or father or even a grandma/grandpa card.
I printed it out twice, once on white card and once on printer paper to make a mask.  I made the background with my gelli-plate using distress oxide inks because they give a great texture as well as colour, and printed it onto the masked card.  I stamped little flowers in white around their feet and some silver clouds.

This week the prompts are:  Page, Waiting, Triangle, Pink, and Own choice.

PAGE:  I look forward to our rural paper coming twice a week with it's puzzles, so here's the page:

WAITING:  Jan waiting for us to catch up on our walk.  I did some playing with adobe photoshop paint effects in this one.

TRIANGLE:  To start with, I really got stuck on this one, and then I couldn't stop seeing them!  Lots of triangles in this quilt that I made in 2008 while we lived in UK, but photographed today.  Apart from the piano key border it is all triangles, and triangles making more triangles.

PINK:  I have lots of pink flowers, but one of my faves is this very delicate barely-there pink penstemon.   Which reminds me... I promised some cuttings of this one to a friend ... must do.

OWN CHOICE:  I love photographing old buildings and old stuff of any kind really.  This is a farm dairy with a derelict bit of machinery in the long grass.  I love the paint peeling off the door and  the bits of rust etc.

I hope you think my choices are interesting this week.  I look forward to seeing yours.
