Prompts this week are:  ornate, spicy, roll, muted, own choice.

Hi there, it's been a strange week, with weird weather, lockdown etc. 

Ornate:  It was my birthday this past week, and we are in the middle of a level 4 lockdown, so it was just me and Ian.  To lend a festive atmosphere, we had a celebratory morning tea and I got dressed up and wore my pearls and an ornate tiara. 

Spicy:  Pretty lantern peppers in our garden.

Roll:  During lockdown I have been trying new recipes.  This is a Sweet Chilli, Ham & Cream Cheese roll.  It didn't roll very well because the ham was cut a bit thick.  Next time I will use thinner ham.  A delicious lunch though.

Muted:   succulents are generally muted in colour as is this one (a soft gray blue), but I decided to mute it even more by converting it to black & white.

Own choice:  This week in our road we have lambs, YAY!  This mama had a cute little lamb from this magnificent papa.  They are self-shearing sheep (that's why his wool is coming off in patches), but I don't know what breed they are.

Old Lady Moments

 This is a new stamp that I have been playing with.  I stamped it on white card, then made the background with Distress Inks, white acrylic paint, misters, Perfect Pearls (gold, mink and pearl), smooshed, sploshed, spritzed, misted & splattered.  Then I stamped onto patterned paper for the ladies and paper pieced.  I dotted some black pen to 'ground' them.  Lots of texture, and see the sparkle on the close up.  

Old ladies have fun too!  This is for a friend that I laugh and cry and play with, and we are separated during covid lockdown.  And yep, much as I hate to own it, we are old ladies on the outside and girls on the inside!

Wrong Man

This stamp arrived in the mail on Thursday, what a great image to play with.   I stamped Mr Wrong on white card and also stamped on scrap paper for a mask.  With the mask on his face, I smooshed, spritzed, misted, sprayed and splattered. What fun.

Sympathy Birds

 

Smooshing, spritzing and splattering are the background I made for this card.  I like the simple look even though it isn't a simple card.  I like the imagery of birds for this sympathy card.

 iSpy #33  Lysha's weekly challenge.

The prompts this week are: Stuck, House quarterly, ink, Starts with 'C', own choice.

Stuck:  Yes I have lots of chooky stuff and this pincushion is my fave.  The pins stuck in don't hurt at all!

House Quarterly:  Luckily my daffodils came out this week, and are such a welcome sign of spring, so I had to include them of course.

Ink:  One of my hobbies is cardmaking and I love to get inky and messy.  I made inked backgrounds and also use the inks as water colours as I'm doing here.  You can see some inky backgrounds, plus the stencilled clouds on the card in the foreground.

Starts with 'C':  curly bits on some wall art.

Your choice:  I am so glad to see these tui cherry trees blossoming as it means I can stop feeding sugar water to tui and waxeyes.  From now on they will have lots of nectar to sip because after this they will have a continuity of  nectar from kowhai trees , then flaxes etc etc until next autumn.

Who doesn't like birthday cake?  I used a digi image, but it looked a bit flat, so I loosely doodled around the cake and candles and am much happier with it.

I love these new stamps I just got in the mail and they are so cute, you will probably see them often.  I love this one, so sublime, just floating away using the parasol for lift!

I used the die as an embossing folder,  sponged with DistressInks, then splattered with white acrylic paint.
