My assignment was to be inspired by special food at Christmas.   In New Zealand we have a summer Christmas and it just so happens to coincide with fresh cherries coming into shops.  So for this card I have combined the delicious cherry on a cupcake (with cream cheese icing) and a nice cool drink while we swelter in the heat under a shady tree  (sigh).  

 The image is printed three times, twice on card and once in part onto patterned paper for piecing.  Shading is added with Copics in similar colours.  WoS is applied to the icing, and Glossy Accents to the cherry (oh yum).  The cupcake is raised on 3D foam.

I merged the background paper and the kitty directly onto the base card, then masked so that only the sweater was showing.  Using Distress Inks ,I sponged a lighter background colour on then stamped the knitted texture over using the same colour ink.  The kitty is coloured with Copics.

 challenge this time.  I combined both and check out what the design team did, here:  crafterscafe

I cut and coloured the image, and added fluffy Flocking to his suit trim.  The roof is made with punched layers and inked edges.   A tiny stamped bird with a touch of gold is watching and giving his opinion on the problem (circle punched and handwritten).  Stars are stencilled and a dusting of snow on the roof using glitter paste.

THE TAG: The tag is diecut (Sizzix/Tim Holtz) and the background is stamped over with Kaisercraft sentiment using Versamark ink as a watermark, splashed with gold ink (Pilot). I used a left over bird tree to make a tag, edged tree and tag with gold embossing.  Cut out five little birds to pop up using 3D foam.
