iSpy #38

 iSpy #38 Lysha's photographic challenge.

The week the prompts were : Real Life, Connect, Square, Upright, your choice.

Real Life:  Today was a great spring day - warm and sunny and perfect for gardening and doing those jobs that get put off again and again.  Ian is finally doing the step & trim strips on the garden around the deck (the deck was finished two years ago!).  YAY!

Connect:  This is certainly a puzzle that is often not connected.  We can't do it, and visitors always try it.  One of our friends is an engineer and he didn't know what it was supposed to look like as someone had pulled it to bits, but he put it back together in about a minute!   So, now it is connected.

Square:  I like the pattern this stack of bricks makes, and the subtle shadings.

Upright:  Doing the gardening today in my wild garden, I noticed among the plantings that most were sort of horizontal, except for the bluebells which are upright. . . not to mention absolutely lovely.

Own choice:  I have been trying lots of new recipes lately and this is one effort: cinnamon buns with cream cheese icing.  Oh YUM!

That's it for this week.  Check out the selection at Lysha's Photographic challenge here:   spy-38

Vintage You

Vintage is a great way to go for men.  And this could do for any age birthday.

The EF is sanded and I distressed the edges as well for the vintage look.  I did some recycling here with a leftover strip of vellum, a manilla folder and a snippet of some packaging material.

EF, sanded: Cuttlebug

Car die (stacked):  Sizzix/Tim Holtz

Sentiment: Hero Arts

Also: Vellum, packaging, D.Inks

Crowd of Unicorns

At Incy Wincy you have a choice: the theme is Rainbow/Multicoloured/Monsters.  We have lots of inspiration here:

And thanks to Oddball Art who provided the images, get them here:

I think this is a great card for kids, they  are always in the game for a cute monster.  I like the two levels of sparkle, a little bit of shine and little glimmer of gold metallic.

iSpy #37

Lysha's iSpy #37 challenge this week, gosh isn't the year galloping through?

Prompts this time were:  Golden Hour, Action Item, Change, Cellphone, Own choice.

GOLDEN HOUR:  I tried to take a sunrise and I tried to take a sunset, but the phone seems to allow for variations in light levels and cancels all the beautiful colours out.  So here is another Golden:  citrus fruit - tangelo juice - delicious.   These are the last ones from our tree; it is amazing that nature provides citrus in the winter just when you need it.   It's a bit like daffodils, just pure sunshine.  Tangelo = tangerine x grapefruit.

ACTION ITEM:  Ian on his ride-on mower.  It is his zone-out space.

CHANGE:  Soon these blossoms will change into plums!

CELLPHONE:  I keep my phone in this little quilted case I made to protect it and for FUN.  The words are hello in various languages!  Isn't that appropriate?

OWN CHOICE:  When I wandered around today looking for some action, the hens thought I was coming to let them out into the orchard and all ran for the gate.  Sorry girls, not until the lawns are finished.   I guess this is an action shot too.

That's it for this week.  Check out Lysha's photographic challenge, here:  iSpy-37
