Summer Christmas

Yes, we have a summer Christmas and here it was over 30 deg C in the shade yesterday.  Luckily we were warned so we set up three tables joined together outside under the trees and it was fabulous - still hot, but a lot cooler than on the deck or inside.  Today is boxing day and already (at 9.00am) looks like a scorcher.

I love heat embossing - it was one of the first techniques I learned and the magic still happens.  This time I used white EP on the tree and gold EP for the senti, sponged over with Distress Inks, then misted and splotted with perfect pearls mist.  I then sponged over the tree and sun to make it stand out from the background, and inked the edges.

Stamp:    Stampit

Senti stamp:  magazine freebie

Also: DInks, WoS on stars, Perfect pearls

It is curved and fits with lots of Christmas images

There were 14 of us here for Christmas day, sadly one daughter and her family were unable to make it.  So three of our kids, their spouses, and six grandchildren.  Afterwards we played games - in the shade! Some of the kids had a swim.

Hi Carol, a fun Christmas had by your family, ours was not quite so hot only 26C here and today it is currently 10C. Love the summer Christmas tree with the thongs on it. Have a wonderful week... Megan

As much as I prefer warmer weather, I do appreciate a nice, white Christmas! We were blessed enough to have a bit of snow/sleet/rain this year which made it seem like a white Christmas and we woke up this morning to about 2 inches of snow!! Yeay!! Anyway, your card is so fun!! What a great image for those of you that have a warm Christmas and I love the emboss resist technique with the colors you used! Thanks for playing with The House That Stamps Built.

Hi Heather, I would love to have white Christmases. We had two winter Christmases in the northern hemishere a few years ago and loved it - a real Christmas feeling which we don't get here in the heat. Lucky you to get snow!
