Hello Critters

These lovely little woodland friends look so cosy in their winter woollies.

I made the background directly onto the base card using painters masking tape, sponging with Distress Inks, then spritzing and splashing.

You're Sweet

When I was a kid I loved getting these conversation sweets and having a dip to see what the message was.

The jar and cover are diecut from papers and tied with fine crochet cotton.  'You're Sweet' is stamped and heat embossed with lime green.  I love how the colours pop against the black background.

Flower Thoughts

Who loves recipes?  Of course we do at the Crafters Café (wouldn't be a café without recipes right?). There are three feature items (one flower, two butterflies and three patterned papers) and once you have those, your card is half made!  The design team have provided some inspiration so check it out here: crafterscafe

I printed the image out three times - once on heavy cardstock, once on printer paper and once on patterned paper.  I used the printer paper image carefully cut out to make a positive and negative mask and sponged Distress Inks colour onto the cardstock.  The patterned paper is cut out, the dress is stuck on directly, and the flower with 3D foam.  The doily and paper layered, edges distressed and stuck with 3D foam tape on top-fold card.  Butterflies are punched, inked and stuck on using 3D foam.

Amazing Cool

A sketch is the starting point of this card:


I used four papers for this one, three with different sized dots and one with stripes, plus brown linen card to back the sentiment.  The 3D Kindyglitz is used to integrate and expand the visual width of the washi tape without making it wider, as well as add texture.

Love Bauble

I can't help but think how society has made February & St Valentines Day a season like Christmas, so here it is a seasonal Love card.

I made a mist & splatter background with red and gold, added a ribbon and sparkled the heart.

I love this hot pink and spicy orange together (inspired by the colours in the paper), how untraditional for a valentine card, but pretty exciting too.

Watercolour Stencil Heart

Another of my watercolour cards using just a dollar shop kids paint tray and watercolour paper.  The paint is iridescent and is all in pastels, click on the pic to see.

I used a diecut heart as a stencil, just dabbing with a brush and then covering the whole sheet. The sentiment is diecut then stacked, which leaves a lovely shadow.
