I am trying to use some of my older stamps and supplies in a new way. This is an old Tim Holtz stamp and die set. I think this would make a good male card.
At our previous house, the cicada, after emerging from the ground in spring or summer, used to attach to the horizontal rails of a wooden fence, burst out of their skins and leave their cases dangling like christmas tree lights; in the sunlight they were sheer gold. There were hundreds of them.
I stamped the background directly onto a base card using Versamark ink (about 20 years old) and dusted it over with mica powder, wiping off the excess. I stamped the bugs (I think they're cicada), heat embossed in gold, then diecut. The sentiment is stamped directly onto the card and gold heat embossed.
Stamp background: THoltz/S Anonymous
Senti Stamp: unknown
Also: PearlEx (mink) mica powder

Fabulous card Carol, love the dark card and the writing looks brilliant but the stars of the show are those gorgeous gold critters, I wouldn't be to happy if I met them IRL but they do look beautiful here. xx
Fabulous masculine card, love the embossed script background and gold embossed bugs.
