Do you remember when you were a kid and came home to the smell of baking?  And a warm kitchen in winter?  Knowing you could have a drink and a snack before doing your homework?  I think that is one of the feelings of home we carry with us forever.  Food is one of the feelings of place we remember.

Dies are unknown, the background is a recycled manual cover (leather grain card) that had been spiral bound, and the sentiment was typed on the computer.  Also added silver card diecuts and ribbon, a little DI brushed on for subtle shading.  the rolling pin, mitt and senti are popped up on 3D foam.  Little diecuts from snippets.

Birthday Boogie

 

A cousin-in-law and I have a birthday a month apart, are the same age and believe in celebrating anything we can.   So here we are, two young old ladies celebrating!

The Art Impressions stamped twice, once on white card, once onto patterned paper and paper pieced.  The background is stamped (Altenew) in various shades of yellow/gold.  Some Copics, gold pen, and a ribbon.

Four Basic Foods

 

Who doesn't love chocolate in some form or other?  Good enough to eat.

The brown card has embossed stripes on the edge; the background card is smooshed with DI's and Glimmer Mists (for a pearly sheen).  Ribbon and pearls added for glamour.  I have no idea where the image came from, it has been sitting in my bitz box forever, it must be digi.

Wildflowers Blue

 

I love getting messy with stuff.  Especially special effects like this.  It really looks like rain on a window.

The image is Artsy Stamper digi, the sentiment by Bird, oval die unknown.  It also uses DI's, and Sheer Shimmer mister.

Teddy Baby Congrats

 

This card is for first time parents-to-be of twins, that's why they look surprised and why there are two teddies.

The images are from Dearie Dolls (two separate digi images), coloured with Copics, cut out and placed on dotty DP background.  The mama is popped up on 3D foam tape and the sentiment stamped directly onto grosgrain ribbon.  Some white pen highlights and Stickles.

Plaid Pumpkins

 

I'm loving my pumpkins die at the moment.  This one is CAS and tells me that fruit and veg can be spiced up with pattern - sometimes simple is best.    

The dies are unknown (if you know please tell me), diecut from snippets of patterned paper.  I have doodled on them with black & white pen and put a drop of Glossy accents for dew.  The background is stencilled through sequin waste with DI's.  The leaves are on 3D foam for pop-up.

Cheshire Cat Smiles

 

A sketch, a tag, a crazy clock die and some drop-outs from a diecut.  The tag is from Digital Scrapbooking
(fussycut), the die & embossed sentiment is unknown brand.  The metallic card drop-outs are from Tim Holtz gears dies - I put glue on the back of them when they were still in the die and pushed them out directly onto the card so they would keep their shape.  The background crazy clock die is cut from smooshed card.  The zigzag die is Couture Creations.  I put Glossy Accents on the eyes and teeth.  Sketch from Creative Moments as below.  The cheshire cat is from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.

DIY Man

 

This is for a friend's birthday.  He is retired but makes furniture in his spare time.  

I thought the stamp with the man with a crown and maths was suitable so I stamped onto the plaide, then again onto white card which is then coloured with Copics, fussy cut and layered.   I covered the crown with Cosmic Shimmer gilding flakes, and added black Enamel Accents to hang the tools on.  The sentiment is heat embossed.  The stamps & dies are unbranded.  I used a woodgrain paper for the board to hang his tools on - just as they are in his workshop.  The plaid paper is digi print and has been sitting in my bitz box for ages.

Rainbows and Flowers

 

I made this for a cardswap which had to include rainbow colours.  

The background is made using a leafy stencil (Uniti) and Distress Inks.   I also inked the edges of the white base card. Diecut flowers and some sprigs (unknown brand), the sentiment is HeroArts.  Also: Opal Dust, gems.

Always Pumpkins

 

I coloured the sunflowers and pumpkins with a kids pearly watercolour set, so it's come out rather pale and interesting with a beautiful pearly sheen.  This is a one-layer card.

Background is a layering of digital paper and images.  It doesn't show, but there are three scored lines along the white bottom strip to anchor it.

Spicy autumny colours offset by the complementary colour blue, always looks good.

The dies are new to me, and are unknown brands.  If you know what they are please let me know (thanks Sarn, the toadstools are The Greetery Botanicuts Toadstool Garden).  Also used some Copics and WoS.  A lot of snippets of all kinds used in this one, and some of the fungi are stacked to give depth.  The last photo shows a little of the frosty sparkle made with WoS.  The sentiment is diecut from packaging and is a lovely rich metallic.

I made this, as a bookmark, for one of my teen grandchildren who needs a bit of encouragement at the moment.  The bear is masked, sponged with DI's, then fussy cut.  I love the chilled bear; dancing with only the pleasure of music and movement on her mind.

I made this for a man who loves fishing (and catching).

I smooshed card for the background, stamping the seaweed, sentiment, and little fish (two colours) directly.  The shark is stamped onto patterned paper, coloured in selected parts, and attached with a paper spring.  A dab of Stickles on one of the teeth gives him a bit of sparkle.
