I got the design from an internet tutorial (Stamping it My Way - Post It Calendar notepad easel, no name  included, but thank you),  but I've moved the notepad over and added a little pen.  There is space under the fold for an inspirational thought for the new year  " One who gardens always shows hope for the future"

The Christmas Tree Fairy

Come and join in our Christmas fun at Come And Get It challenges, this time it's a card: cagichallenge



And I used a beautiful image from one of our sponsors - All Dressed up.  Have a look at the wonderful images here: alldressedupstamps


I coloured the image with pencils, then sponged three shades of Distress Inks around the edges and spritzed with water, blotting to remove colour when it was how I wanted it.  I masked the image then used a toothbrush to add gold acrylic paint speckle, and a spray of green mica mist.  When it was all dry I stencilled some stars (stencil is made with a star punch).  Lastly I brushed the wings & dress with clear Wink of Stella, and stars with Kindyglitz.  Double sided tape strips on the side were covered with pastel lemon superfine glitter.

The EF is inked over with white chalk ink to give a snowy look, and the snowflake border is left free.  I liked the pencils to colour the image as it is quite delicate.  My granddaughter Rhiannon thinks this is herself.

The image bunny holds a flower, but I swapped it up and thought this daddy bunny looked very DIY with his spanner in his hand fixing his burrow. 

I made the background using Distress Oxide inks.    The image is printed onto patterned paper and paper pieced;  I coloured his patches with Copics.   The nose is added along with googly eyes.

I printed the image twice and cut out the balloons and number to raise on 3D foam tape, coating them with Glossy Accents after colouring.  I wanted the image to be the focus, so cut the sentiment in the same colour as the bigger label, so it blended a bit.  I like this colour combination.

Here I used lots of circular motifs (9 actually, not counting the flourishes, petals and all the little round holes and dots on the ribbon!), from the centre of the flowers, the doily layers, to the embossed background and the gem. 
I don't usually do fussy and fancy but this one just needed to be done like this.  Not my usual colour palette either.    ;-)
