I made the background as a direct-to-paper inky concoction.  I framed it with a doodled border filled with black dots and white dots (check it out).  The image is cut out and stuck on with 3D foam.

When Pigs Fly

 

You all  know the saying  'pigs might fly', I'm sure it applies to birthdays too.   The background is made using inks and a gelli plate; then spritzed and splattered. I printed the image onto patterned paper (it looks similar in the photo but is quite different IRL), and cut it out, adding detail and shading with pens & 3D foam.  I like the touch of copper metallic on the washi too.  For my friend who LOVES purple.
