Sweet Heart

Love season is here.  I made this with a background of patterned paper and just carried the colour theme.  I think the wine-red colour gives it an elegance rather than a scarlet-red.
The paper has a diecut square out of it in which the heart is placed - it makes a frame with a nice shadow.

On our birthday don't we all want to be princess for a day?
I coloured her with pencils to get a bit of magic softness.  Set her in a frame made with iridescent pearlized card, and also some pretty ribbon and tulle.  The sentiment is stamped on the ribbon.

I printed the jar & sentiment on blue card, then with a craft knife cut out the jar (which I will keep to use as a mask for another project).  The bugs are coloured with Copics and punched.  The lid is gold metallic pen and the edge is 'stitching' in white pen.  I did flip the bug image on the computer so I got them looking both ways.

CAS Baby2

Here is another CAS card for baby.


Masked 1/3 of the card and smooshed with Distress Oxide Inks, splotched etc, then stamped over.  The birds are then painted 3 different shades of blue using the Distress Oxide Inks, and Wink of Stella.  The sentiment is also 1/3 above.  Sequins added - I just bought these on special and they are the loveliest variety of bluey shimmery colour.

CAS Baby

I've been having a play with a CAS challenge using 1/3 with a twist of masking.

I had this sweet stamp which I've never used and decided this was the time to use it.  I masked off the area with masking tape and inked with 3 Oxide Distress Inks, splattering with water etc., then stamped over.

I hope this simple floral card would make someone feel uplifted.  I love the paper, it is so fresh looking and deserves to be the hero of the card.

The design could really be used for anything, with the sentiment changed - birthday, thank you etc.

New Home

I wanted a card for someone who had just moved house, found I had this lovely paper and it all went from there.  The paper has delicious frosted embossing on some areas and makes you want to touch it.  I had to fussy cut to get the areas I wanted.  If you look you can see how it includes all the seasons.

This is the first time I have made an upright Z card.

Monster Cake

Today's card is from a Catch the Bug photo inspiration in the birthday week celebration.












I used a Sizzix Bigz die for the cake, cutting it in three parts, then placed the monsters into the top like they were popping out of the cake  … surprise!

Happy Birthday to Ewe

I'm liking using bright colours at the moment.  With it being the middle of summer here, the light is so intense that bright colours are what is needed as pastels look so washed out.

I don't usually make scene-type cards, but for this I decided ewe needed a hill filled with flowers to celebrate and frolic in.  Colours fit the Catch the Bug challenge (teal, leaf green, yellow, orange, red), and I like the surrealist sky too.

I used a sketch for this card and wanted a humourous sentiment.  I found the quote online and typed it on the computer.  I just got a couple of bundles of new narrow washi tape which is fabulous.

Monster Tag

This monster has a little more to him, like hands,  a candle, and a balloon, but I cut that off so he would look like SLIME, which my grandchildren love.

Gift Pouch

A little gift pouch for a little gift.

Made using the We are Memory Keepers pouch maker.  The paper started at 6x6" and was patterned with beautiful flowers that were glazed/embossed.

The little image with the heart went beautifully with a simple ribbon and bow.  I like the elegant effect of the rich embossing with the simple design and coordinating colour.

I layered it up.
 I have a neighbor with a birthday on the 19th who has hens and I thought this was pretty cute for her.  The image is printed onto card and coloured.  Matted onto black card, a red strip printed on the computer as a footer, and blue strip stamped.  The hen has been printed twice and the second copy cut out and stuck over with 3D foam.
