2020 FAVES: 

Crafty Suze inspired me to look back over my year and pick my favourite work.  I try to make at least one card a day so there were a lot (more than 365!), sometimes it was hard to choose.   What do you think?

Happy New Year !  Here's a mousie band to play foot tapping music for you to start the year off right.

I made the background by masking the mice and sponging d'inks darker at the top shaded downwards, then splattering.  I used 'drop-outs' from diecuts for the hats.

Gold Card Gal

 

I made this for a special friend's 65th birthday.  In NZ, when you are 65 you get a Gold Card which entitles you to free transport, discounts and other benefits of reaching seniority.  Jan's favourite colour is purple, so of course it also had to be purple.

I embossed a border around the patterned paper, and added googly eyes for fun (we seniors are allowed to have fun, right?).

When Pigs Fly

 

You all  know the saying  'pigs might fly', I'm sure it applies to birthdays too.   The background is made using inks and a gelli plate; then spritzed and splattered. I printed the image onto patterned paper (it looks similar in the photo but is quite different IRL), and cut it out, adding detail and shading with pens & 3D foam.  I like the touch of copper metallic on the washi too.  For my friend who LOVES purple.

Cocktail Cheers

 

Scribbles challenge is Sparkle & Shine.  Think of me here in NZ in the full heat of summer drinking this cool, frosted drink called a Traffic Light.  The sparkle is from Wink of Stella, like moisture all over the glass when it's been in the fridge.  I wanted to keep it clean and simple, so used dry embossing to make a subtle surface for the glass to stand on; it adds a bit of texture too.
