Be Afraid

Pop in to the Crafters Cafe and grab youself a challenge.  Choices of challenge are  use STENCILS  or  use ORANGE-PURPLE-BLACK or BOTH.  See what the design team have done and join in, here:  crafterscafeblogchallenge

Thanks to the wonderful Lisa at Decosse Dynamite Doodles for providing the paper, lanterns, frame, raven and washi tape.  Get them here:  decossesdynamitedoodles  : Textured papers: grunge green; Trickortreat General elements: string of lanterns, black raven; Washi: dots, orange stripes; Trick&treat frames: purple arched window

I chose to do BOTH choices.  I arranged the elements digitally, put the green grunge paper behind, then printed.  I stencilled barbed wire at top and bottom, added Glossy Accents to the lanterns, and tied a tiny bottle (with a little silver paint in it) around the matted card.   Muslin is distressed and stuck to the base card, then the top glued on.  But … be very afraid of what is inside ...

Decosse Dynamite Doodles: paper, lanterns, frame, raven and washi tapes.
Wire Stencil: TCW
Bottle: from the dollar shop
Sentiment: typed/printed on the computer
Glossy Accents, black pearl, muslin & twine from stash.

Travelling Man

The challenge at the Crafters Café this time is Boys will be Boys, so check out the design team's work and join the challenge here: crafterscafechallenge

The Crafter's Cafe Challenge Blog

Lisa at Decosse Doodles provided the great paper and elements (all from the "Touch of Class" range), check out her site here:

I guess because in NZ we are a 2.5 hour flight from our nearest neighbour and are so isolated, we are a travelling nation, so I decided on a card for a big boy (after all, boys will be boys and hop on a plane when they feel like it).   I don't know of a single New Zealander who hasn't been out of the country at some time, and a lot of us like to travel a lot!  Kiwis can fly!

Bird Christmas Tree

Over at the Crafters Café, we have a Christmas theme, check out the wonderful work from the design team and enter your own: crafterscafeblogchallenge

All of the items on the card except the gold stars are from our sponsor Decosse: decossesdynamitedoodles
Thanks Decosse!
I chose these items because we have a summer Christmas and snow just doesn't work here!

I used these printable digipapers from Decosse's Holidays, Christmas collections:
12 Months Christmas 2014
A Grungy Christmas
Christmas Critters
Striped Paper Multicoloured
An Eclectic Christmas

Doily Die: Nellies Doily
Border die: Kaisercraft
Also: punched gold stars, Glossy Accents (on birds), Pilot gold pen (edge of tree).

Click on images for a closer look.

And ... when you're on a roll ...

THE TAG: The tag is diecut (Sizzix/Tim Holtz) and the background is stamped over with Kaisercraft sentiment using Versamark ink as a watermark, splashed with gold ink (Pilot). I used a left over bird tree to make a tag, edged tree and tag with gold embossing.  Cut out five little birds to pop up using 3D foam.
