Patchwork Birthday

Eyes coloured with Copics
Sentiment stamp: Ranger/Dina Wakely
PPaper from stash, a sprinkle of gems, black pen.


I chose to colour only the eyes of the image, I thought the image would disappear into the background if I coloured it  (sometimes I like to leave them uncoloured anyway).  The patched background is made using a stack'n'slash quilting technique.  The stamped sentiment is smudged with pale green in patches.  Stitching is added with a pen once it is all stuck down.  A sprinkle of gems falling into her hand.
It's very interesting; when I was making it, the top left square stood out, but in the photograph the centre square stands out more.
