Blue Dragonfly

This big dragonfly die deserves space for itself.

I made the background by using a flourish stencil to dry emboss, then inking over the card with Distress Oxide Inks.  Then a large background stamped over.  White acrylic paint (diluted) stamped using bubble wrap, then a space in the middle stamped with thicker white acrylic paint using a torn cardboard as a stamp. Flicked with shimmer mist and silver acrylic paint.

The dragonfly is misted with sheer mist and adhered with shredded gauze under.  Body is adorned with pearls, and the wings are left free.

B&W Floral

This was one of the exercises I learnt at the Spring Card Camp 2 - day 11, Anticolouring.

While I enjoy colouring, I often choose to leave an image uncoloured if I think it helps the design.

I stamped the background onto yellow card with Versamark Ink and allowed it to dry.  I stamped onto white card and cut out the images sticking them on with 3D foam, popping leaves under them directly onto the base card.

Rider

I wanted a masculine card, but find them challenging.  This one had a couple of changes during it's evolution.

I ended up inlaying the words in the die, and decided to leave the image uncoloured.

AS far as I know, there isn't a man (or boy) alive who either hasn't had a motorbike or wished he did!

Always wining

I love this image and have used it before.   I wanted to keep it mostly B & W but added a touch of colour (wine of course!) in the mat and the words.
The glass and bottle have thick Glossy Accents on them which is hard to capture in the photos.

Day 20 of the Spring Card Camp 2 is Window weaving.

I have been trying to use up stuff I've had for ... I'm not telling you how long ...  that's what the brrrrright yellow is about.  However I thought it would serve to add sunshine to someone's day, and I found it was fun working with a colour I wouldn't normally use.
Yes, folks, there will be more brights coming up in the near future.

I combined both for this card, die-cutting it opposite to the ink strokes I made on the background, then setting the die on the diagonal to the card.

I printed the image 3 times: green dotty paper, yellow hex paper, white card.  I cut the frame out of yellow (including the middle), then the bird.  Layered them onto the trimmed printed white card without the centre cut out.  Added twine & button, then layered the whole lot onto dark orange textured card.  Added the sentiment which has been diecut with wide DS tape on the back and applied directly.  That means I don't get the letters all wonky!

SCC2 day 14 Watercolour

SCC2 day 14 Watercolour Inspired by Children

Watercolour inspired by Children was a great exercise, fun and a bit messy.  I used Lyra Watercolor Crayons to make my designs.  I have had these for nearly twenty years and love the textured effect they give either dry or watered.

My faves are the dots and the geometrics. I used Rosie's Studio stamps on one and matted it - it is my #1 pick of the four.

My first card for Day 13. I had a few feather dies and used all of them, except very little ones.

I used this to send as a sympathy card to a friend who lost her father.
